Konsistensi dari serangkaian alat ukur untuk Yohanes

Arkeologi mendukung kredibilitas Lukas, tetapi Lukas bukanlah satu-satunya penulis Perjanjian Baru. Saya heran tentang apa yang dikatakan para ilmuwan mengenai Yohanes, yang memulai injilnya dengan fasih menegaskan inkarnasi -- bahwa, "Firman," atau Yesus, telah menjadi Manusia dan tinggal di antara kita dalam Natal pertama.

Injil Yohanes terkadang dicurigai karena dia berbicara tentang tempat-tempat yang tidak dapat dibuktikan. Beberapa pelajar menyalahkannya karena dia tidak bisa meluruskan dan menjelaskan secara detail, Yohanes dapat dipastikan tidak akrab dengan peristiwa-peristiwa dalam kehidupan Yesus.

Akan tetapi, kesimpulannya telah diputar-balikkan akhir-akhir ini. "Ada beberapa penemuan yang menyatakan bahwa Yohanes sangat akurat," McRay menunjukkan, "Contohnya, Yohanes 5:1-15 menuliskan bagaimana Yesus menyembuhkan orang sakit di serambi Kolam Bethesda. Yohanes menyatakan secara detail bahwa kolam tersebut memunyai lima serambi. Untuk waktu yang lama, orang-orang mengutip hal ini sebagai contoh ketidaktepatan Yohanes, karena tidak ada tempat yang ditemukan.

"Akhir-akhir ini Kolam Bethesda telah digali -- kolam itu mungkin terkubur di bawah tanah -- dan tentunya, ada lima beranda, yang berarti bilik atau lorong, persis seperti yang digambarkan Yohanes. "Jadi hal ini menantang pernyataan tanpa bukti bahwa injil Yohanes telah ditulis jauh setelah Yesus sehingga injil ini tidak mungkin tepat," ujarku.

"Tepat sekali," balasnya.

Saya memutuskan untuk menanyakan McRay pertanyaan yang lebih luas: apakah dia pernah mendapatkan penemuan arkeologis yang nyata-nyata bertentangan dengan acuan Perjanjian Baru?

Dia menggelengkan kepalanya. "Arkeologi tidak menemukan apa pun, yang secara tegas menentang Alkitab," jawabnya dengan meyakinkan. "Sebaliknya, seperti yang telah kita bahas, banyak sekali pendapat ilmuwan yang telah disusun sebagai suatu fakta selama bertahun-tahun, tetapi arkeologi tersebut dinyatakan salah."

Walaupun demikian, ada beberapa hal yang saya ingin ketahui, terutama tentang permasalahan seputar kelahiran Yesus. Saya melihat catatan saya dan siap menantang McRay dengan tiga teka-teki panjang -- persoalan yang masih ada kaitannya, yang saya kira masih sulit dijelaskan oleh arkeologi.

Teka-teki ke-1: Sensus

Pernyataan naratif yang ditulis Lukas menyatakan bahwa Maria dan Yusuf diharuskan pulang ke kota asal Yusuf, Bethlehem, berdasarkan sensus. "Saya akan menyatakannya secara blak-blakan: ini tampak konyol," ujarku. "Bagaimana mungkin pemerintah menyuruh seluruh warganya untuk kembali ke kota kelahiran mereka? Apakah ada bukti arkeologis apa pun bahwa sensus seperti ini pernah terjadi?"

McRay dengan perlahan mengambil salinan bukunya. "Sebenarnya, penemuan bentuk sensus kuno telah menerangkan sedikit tentang praktik ini," ujarnya seraya membuka lembaran buku. Ketika menemukan referensi yang dia cari, dia mengutip peraturan pemerintahan resmi pada tahun 104 SM.

Gaius Vibius Maximus, Perfect of Egypt [mengatakan]: Karena waktu untuk sensus rumah ke rumah telah tiba, maka mereka semua, yang atas alasan apa pun tinggal di luar provinsi mereka diwajibkan pulang ke rumah mereka masing-masing, agar mereka dapat melaksanakan peraturan rutin sensus serta mereka dapat berpartisipasi dengan rajin untuk menggarap tanah mereka.

"Seperti yang dapat Anda lihat," ujarnya sambil menutup buku, "bahwa praktik tersebut dikuatkan oleh dokumen ini, walaupun cara menghitung warga ini tampak aneh bagi Anda. Dan naskah lain menjelaskan bahwa tulisan dibuat pada tahun 48 SM, menunjukkan bahwa semua anggota keluarga terlibat dalam sensus."

Akan tetapi, naskah ini tidak menghapus seluruh permasalahan. Lukas mengatakan bahwa sensus yang menyebabkan Yusuf dan Maria kembali ke Betlehem dilaksanakan ketika Kirenius memimpin Siria dan selama kekuasaan Herodes Agung.

"Hal ini memicu permasalahan mendasar," ujarku, "karena Herodes meninggal pada tahun 4 SM, dan Kirenius tidak memerintah sampai 6 SM, ketika sensus dilakukan setelah itu. Ada jarak yang jauh di sana; bagaimana Anda menanggapi ketidakcocokan yang besar dalam penanggalan ini?"

McRay mengetahui bahwa saya mengangkat permasalahan yang telah digeluti para arkeolog selama bertahun-tahun. Dia menanggapinya dengan mengatakan, "Seorang arkeolog yang terkenal bernama Jerry Vardaman telah melakukan kerja yang bagus berkaitan dengan hal ini. Dia menemukan koin dengan nama Kirenius. Di koin itu terdapat tulisan yang sangat kecil, atau yang kita kenal dengan huruf-huruf "mikrografik". Hal ini menempatkannya sebagai prokonsul dari Siria dan Kilikia dari tahun 11 Sebelum Masehi sampai kematian Herodes."

Saya bingung. "Apa maksudnya?" tanyaku.

"Yang jelas, ada dua orang yang bernama Kirenius," ujarnya. "Banyak orang yang memunyai nama Roma yang sama adalah hal yang lumrah, jadi tidak ada alasan untuk meragukan bahwa ada dua orang dengan nama Kirenius. Sensus dapat terjadi di bawah kekuasaan Kirenius yang pertama. Karena sensus diadakan selama empat belas tahun sekali, sensus akan berjalan dengan cukup lancar."

Teka-teki ke-2: Kehadiran Nazaret

Banyak orang Kristen tidak sadar bahwa skeptis telah menegaskan untuk waktu yang cukup lama bahwa orang Nazaret tidak pernah ada selama waktu Perjanjian Baru menyebutkan bahwa Yesus menghabiskan masa kecilnya di sana setelah kelahirannya di Bethlehem.

Atheis Frank Zindler menunjukkan bahwa Nazaret tidak disebutkan dalam Perjanjian Lama, oleh rasul Paulus, oleh Talmud, atau oleh sejarawan abad pertama, Yosefus. Kenyataannya, tidak ada sejarawan-sejarawan atau ahli geografi yang menyebutkan Nazaret sebelum awal mula abad ke-4."

Hilangnya bukti ini memberikan gambaran yang mencurigakan. Jadi aku menanyakan hal ini langsung ke McRay: "Apakah ada konfirmasi arkeologis bahwa Nazaret ada selama abad pertama?"

Permasalahan ini bukanlah permasalahan yang baru buat McRay. "Dr. James Strage dari University of South Florida adalah seorang ahli dalam bidang ini. Dia menggambarkan Nazaret adalah kota yang sangat kecil, sekitar enam hektar, dengan populasi maksimum sekitar 480 pada awal abad pertama," ujar McRay.

"Bagaimana dia bisa mengetahuinya?" tanyaku.

"Strange mencatat bahwa Yerusalem runtuh pada tahun 70 SM. Para imam tidak lagi diperlukan di tempat ibadah karena tempat ibadah tersebut telah dirusak. Jadi, mereka dikirim ke berbagai tempat lain, bahkan sampai ke Galilea. Para arkeolog menemukan daftar dalam bahasa Aram yang menggambarkan dua puluh empat 'bagian', atau keluarga, dari para imam yang dipindahkan, dan salah satu dari mereka di dalam "daftar' telah pindah ke Nazaret. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa perkampungan kecil ini pasti terletak di sana pada waktu itu."

Sebagai tambahan, dia mengatakan bahwa ada penggalian arkeologis yang telah menemukan kuburan abad pertama di daerah sekitar Nazaret, yang menandakan batas-batas desa, karena menurut peraturan Yahudi, penguburan hanya boleh dilakukan di kota itu.

McRay mengambil salinan buku arkeolog terkemuka, Jack Finegan, yang dipublikasikan oleh Princeton University Press. Dia membukanya, kemudian membaca analisis Finegan: "Dari kuburan...dapat disimpulkan bahwa Nazaret adalah kota Yahudi dalam masa Romawi."

McRay melihatku. "Ada diskusi tentang beberapa wilayah dari abad pertama, seperti di mana letak kubur Yesus, tetapi di antara para arkeolog ada keraguan besar tentang lokasi Nazaret. Mereka yang menyangsikan lokasi Nazaretlah yang harus membuktikannya."

Nah, itu terdengar masuk akal. Bahkan ilmuwan Wilson yang biasanya skeptikal, mengutip sisa-sisa kekristenan yang ditemukan pada tahun 1955 di bawah gereja di bawah Church of the Annunciation pada masa Nazaret telah diakui, "Penemuan seperti itu menunjukkan bahwa Nazaret mungkin ada pada masa Yesus, walaupun tidak diragukan lagi tempat tersebut sangat kecil dan tidak berpengaruh.

Karena sangat tidak berpengaruh perenungan Natanael dalam injil Yohanes saat ini masuk akal: "Nazaret!" ujarnya. "Adakah sesuatu yang baik muncul dari sana?"

Bintang ...

Apakah bintang itu sebuah komet? Asteroid? Kumpulan planet-planet? Semua menunjukkan bintang Natal yang memimpin orang-orang majus dari timur untuk mengunjungi bayi Kristus. Bagi astronom Hugh Ross, salah satu kemungkinan, itu adalah "kembali munculnya bintang baru".

"Sebuah nova yang kasat mata (bintang yang langsung bertambah sinarnya, dan dalam beberapa bulan atau tahun baru meredup) terjadi sekitar sekali setiap dekade," ujarnya. "Nova yang unik menarik perhatian pengamat-pengamat yang jeli dan terlatih seperti orang majus. Akan tetapi, banyak nova yang juga biasa saja, dan lepas dari perhatian peneliti lainnya."

Sebagian besar nova meledak satu kali, namun beberapa meledak berkali-kali dalam hitungan bulan maupun tahun. Hal ini, ujarnya, dapat menjelaskan perkataan Matius bahwa bintang muncul, hilang, dan kemudian muncul lagi dan kemudian menghilang lagi.

Teka-teki 3: Pembunuhan Massal di Betlehem

Injil Matius menggambarkan kejadian mengerikan: Herodes Agung, raja Yudea, terancam oleh lahirnya seorang bayi yang dia takuti akan mengambil alih takhtanya, mengutus pasukannya membunuh semua anak di bawah umur dua tahun di Betlehem. Akan tetapi, diperingatkan oleh malaikat, Yusuf melarikan diri ke Mesir bersama Maria dan Yesus. Beberapa saat sesudah Herodes mati, maka kembalilah mereka ke Nazaret Hanya setelah Herodes meninggal mereka kembali menetap di Nazaret, demikianlah keseluruhan episode menggenapi ketiga nubuatan kuno tentang Mesias.

Masalah: tidak ada penegasan langsung bahwa pembunuhan masal ini terjadi. Tidak ada yang menulis mengenai hal ini dalam tulisan-tulisan Yosefus dan sejarawan lain. Tidak ada bukti-bukti arkeologis. Tidak ada catatan sejarah atau dokumen tentang itu.

"Tentu saja kejadian sebesar ini kemudian disaksikan orang lain pada waktu itu selain Matius," tegasku. "Dengan kehampaan dokumentasi historis atau arkeologis, bukankah masuk akal kejadian ini tidak pernah terjadi?"

"Saya tahu mengapa Anda mengatakan hal itu," ujar McRay, "Jika peristiwa tersebut mungkin terjadi masa kini, maka hal itu akan disiarkan di seluruh CNN dan seluruh stasiun di dunia. Akan tetapi, Anda harus menempatkan diri anda pada abad pertama dan mengingat sedikit hal. Pertama, Betlehem mungkin tidak lebih besar daripada Nazaret, jadi berapa banyak bayi berumur kurang dari dua tahun di desa yang terdiri dari lima atau enam ratus orang? Bukan ribuan, bukan ratusan, tetapi pastinya sedikit.

"Kedua, Herodes Agung adalah raja yang haus darah; dia membunuh anggota-anggota keluarganya sendiri; dia membunuh orang banyak yang dia kira dapat menentangnya. Jadi fakta bahwa dia membunuh beberapa bayi di Betlehem tidak akan menarik perhatian orang-orang di dunia Romawi.

"Dan ketiga, tidak ada televisi, tidak ada radio, tidak ada koran. Butuh waktu yang lama untuk berita ini menyebar, terutama dari desa kecil di balik perbukitan di suatu tempat yang tak dikenal, dan para sejarawan memiliki cerita-cerita yang lebih besar untuk dituliskan."

Sebagai seorang jurnalis, hal ini masih sedikit sulit dipahami. "Kejadian ini tidak cukup besar untuk dituliskan?" tanyaku, sedikit ragu.

"Saya kira tidak, paling tidak di hari-hari itu," ujarnya, "Orang gila yang membunuh setiap orang yang tampaknya dapat menjadi ancaman baginya adalah pekerjaan yang biasa bagi Herodes. Tentunya, kemudian, setelah kekristenan berkembang, peristiwa mengenaskan ini menjadi lebih penting, tetapi saya akan lebih terkejut jika peristiwa ini menjadi berita besar pada masa itu."

Saya perlu akui bahwa dari apa yang saya ketahui tentang peristiwa berdarah Palestina kuno, penjelasan McRays tampaknya masuk akal. Tentu saja, ketika wawancara saya dengan McRay telah usai, saya lebih yakin tentang ketepatan keseluruhan Perjanjian Baru.

Clifford Wilson, seorang arkeolog dari Australia, mengatakan, "Mereka yang mengetahui fakta-fakta saat ini menyadari bahwa Perjanjian Baru perlu diterima sebagai buku sumber yang sangat akurat."

Yang lebih penting adalah Perjanjian Baru kemudian didokumentasikan oleh sumber-sumber historis kuno dari luar Alkitab. "Kita memunyai dokumentasi historis yang lebih baik tentang Yesus daripada pendiri agama kuno lainnya," ujar Dr. Edwin Yamauchi saat kunjungan saya ke Miami University of Ohio.

Yamauchi, yang memunyai gelar doktor studi Mediterranean dari Brandeis University, adalah penulis 'The Scriptures and Archaeology and The World of the First Christian'. Ketika saya menanyakannya apa yang dapat disimpulkannya tentang Yesus yang bergantung sepenuhnya pada sumber-sumber kuno non-Christian, dia menjawab:

"Kita tahu, pertama, Yesus adalah guru Yahudi; kedua, banyak orang percaya bahwa Dia dapat menyembuhkan dan mengusir setan; ketiga, beberapa orang percaya bahwa Dia Seorang Mesias; keempat, Dia ditolak oleh pemimpin-pemimpin Yahudi; kelima, Dia disalibkan di bawah pemerintahan Pontius Pilatus pada zaman kekuasaan Tiberius; keenam, di balik kematiannya yang memalukan, pengikutnya, yang percaya kepada-Nya masih hidup, menyebar keluar palestina sehingga banyak sekali dari mereka yang berada di Roma pada tahun 64 Sesudah Masehi; dan ketujuh, semua orang dari kota dan desa -- pria dan wanita, budak dan orang merdeka, menyembahnya sebagai Allah."

Seorang ahli mendokumentasikan 39 sumber historis kuno yang mencatat ada lebih dari seratus fakta tentang kehidupan, pengajaran, penyaliban dan kebangkitan Yesus. Tujuh sumber sekuler dan beberapa kepercayaan mula-mula menekankan pada ketuhanan Yesus, sebuah doktrin "tentunya terdapat pada gereja mula-mula," menurut Dr. Gary Habermas, penulis The Historical Jesus.

Akhirnya, pertanyaan saya tentang apakah perjanjian baru telah diceritakan dan dipercaya selama berabad-abad sampai sekarang ini telah dijawab oleh Dr. Bruce Metzger, profesor emiritus dari Princeton Theology Seminary. Dia mengatakan kepada saya bahwa sejumlah tulisan-tulisan Perjanjian Baru yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya dan mereka ... dekat dengan tulisan-tulisan asli. Perjanjian Baru yang modern 99,55 bebas dari ketidaksesuaian teks, dan tanpa diragukan lagi, tidak terdapat doktrin-doktrin kristen besar. Selain itu, kriteria yang digunakan oleh gereja mula-mula menentukan buku-buku apa yang dianggap memiliki otoritas, telah memastikan bahwa kita memunyai tulisan-tulisan terbaik tentang Yesus.

Tulisan-tulisan itu tidak ambigu menyatakan bahwa bayi di kandang adalah Anak Allah. Akan tetapi, dapatkah dia mendukung pernyataannya? Saya tahu ada intelek Kristen bernama D.A. Carson yang dapat menolong saya menemukan apakah Yesus memenuhi atribut-atribut Allah.

In 2015, I had the idea of a startup company where the readers can decide for themselves the next story. WASN'T THIS A GREAT IDEA? IF can be realized WILL BE WORTH billions USD. Because CAN PRODUCE FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS even tens of millions USD annually.

I, as the author is planning to make tens of thousands of articles with millions of choices in it. With tens of thousands of articles then you like to see a show of your favorite series on TV for several years. The difference is while watching your favorite TV series, then you can not change the story. Meanwhile, if you read this story then you can alter the way the story according to your own choice.

You might say like this. Sounds like a book "choose your own adventure". Books I read when I was young.

Correctly. The idea is taken from there. But if you read through a book, the story is not so exciting. Due to the limited number of pages. When a child first you may already feel interesting. series has produced more than 250 million US 

dollars. While I offer you more powerful than the Choose

story that I made much more interesting than the stories
