War in Heaven!
Satan is at War against God and Mankind

A war started in heaven and now the people of the earth are included in the war. How could Satan think he could win against God? What strategy might he use?
Satan has attacked God and His government. In getting Eve to sin, Satan specifically got Eve to distrust God. She was led to believe that God was holding back what should have been hers. As we will see, Satan must have used the same kind of attack against the angels in heaven. We will be looking at what the Bible says about Satan's war against God and Mankind.
It appears that Satan is waging a legal war. We must wonder how Satan could figure that he might win a war against God, the Creator of all things?
God is all powerful while Satan and His evil angels are only created beings. So why did Satan attack God? They do not have the power of God and they tremble at the thought of God:

19. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19.

God is the true God, the creator of all things. So how could Satan and his evil angels think they could attack God and win? Especially when even thinking about God, they tremble!

10. But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.
11. Thus you shall say to them: "The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens."
12. He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion. Jeremiah 10:10-12.

If we are tempted to think that the above text, concerning those who have not made the heavens and the earth, is just speaking of the idols themselves made of stone and wood; The Bible itself sets us straight on the issue. It says that when we worship idols, we are really worshipping the evil angels that the idols represent, which are demons:

16. They provoked Him to jealousy with foreign gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger.
17. They sacrificed to demons, not to God, To gods they did not know, To new gods, new arrivals That your fathers did not fear. Deuteronomy 32: 16-17.

In the New Testament, we can get a better idea who these foreign gods are:

19. What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?
20. Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 1 Corinthians 10:19-20

There must be something that Satan is depending on. There must be something about God that Satan could depend on!
It must be that Satan could depend on God to be fair. That God would not break His own strict rules of righteousness. Thus Satan must have thought he could get the better of God because he could cheat and lie. He could misrepresent God before man and even before the angels yet God would not do such a thing. Thus Satan must be waging a legal war against God.
In spite of the fact that Satan had this advantage, we can see that Satan and his evil angels have already lost the war. We can even see the reaction of various demons which demonstrate that they themselves know they have lost the war.

33. Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice,
34. saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!" Luke 4:33-34

29. And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"Matthew 8:29

These instances show that the demons know they have lost and that they fear the time ahead when they will be destroyed.
Satan's war against God has long since expanded to include the Earth and all that are on the Earth. So, now we find ourselves in the middle of this war. We know that the evil angels will be destroyed but what about us?
God in His love has made provision that all might be saved if they depend on Christ for their salvation. If we give ourselves fully to Him we will be saved. In the Last Days, Satan will Desperately Try to Force All to Worship Him, Instead of God, so he can win the war! We must make sure that we fully decide to follow God and be careful to follow all His warnings so that we might escape what is planned for Satan and his evil angels.

41. "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels': Matthew 25:41

If we are righteous then we can be on the right-hand side of Christ:

33. "And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34. "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matthew 25:33-34

That is our choice. We can either be destroyed in the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels or we can be blessed and inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world. Let's strive to be followers of Christ and to do His will!
The purpose of this web page is to explore what the Bible says about how Satan is attacking both God and mankind. If we can understand Satan's plan of attack from the Scriptures, we should have a better chance of surviving this war:

6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. . . Hosea 4:6

In our search for what the Bible teaches it is important that we let the Bible speak for itself.

Satan became the Ruler of the Earth

When Satan had successfully tempted Adam and Eve, he not only brought the human family into the life and death struggle that we experience today, but now as a result of man's fall, Satan had obtained authority over the whole earth. Satan began claiming the earth as the place where he rules. Jesus even called Satan the ruler of this world when He was on earth.

30. Jesus answered and said, "This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.
31. "Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
32. "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself."
33. This He said, signifying by what death He would die. John 12:30-33

Also, in the Lord's prayer we have another indication that the things that happen on the earth is not according to God's will. Jesus says:

9. "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10

We are still praying for God's will to occur on earth as it is in Heaven, because God's will is still not yet happening fully. Jesus has not yet taken authority. Yes, that is right. Satan is still the ruler of this world. There is just so much death, destruction, hate, and sorrow all around us. It is still occurring. Jesus still has not taken our world away from Satan, and we know that is true because we are still here living in this sad sinful world!

44. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? Matthew 22:44

Jesus will continue to wait until God the Father makes His enemies his footstool. Then, at that time Satan will be cast out and destroyed.
However, from the very beginning of this war, when Adam and Eve sinned, God set in motion a plan that would save man from certain death. Since both Adam and Eve had sinned against God, they deserved to die. Yet, God had mercy on them and He made a way so that they would be saved from certain death. In addition, the plan would also reclaim the earth from Satan. Our world would again be forever in the hands of God. This is the event that we are really looking forward to, when Jesus comes the second time.
God gave clues to Adam and Eve when they first sinned. he showed them what would happen to them and to Satan.

13. And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
14. So the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.
15. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel". Genesis 3:13-15

Yes, it is true that the snake was cursed, however the real curse was pronounced against Satan. In these few words, God spoke mountains of implications. Here, God is speaking of Jesus, who would come from the seed of Adam and Eve. The seed of the woman (Christ) would bruise Satan's head. This means that Satan would suffer a mortal wound that would be major. He will loose the battle and he will be destroyed forever as well as all those who follow him. The following group of Scripture describe how Satan and His evil angels (demons) will be destroyed.

14. Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15. and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2:14

8. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8

4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 2 Peter 2:4

6. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Jude 1:6

10. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10, 14-15.

However, Jesus will only suffer a bruise to the heel which is not a serious wound; But, Jesus will do everything that He set out to do. Jesus will reclaim the righteous to Himself and the earth will once again be His. Satan and his evil angels will be destroyed forever along with the majority of mankind who are wicked.

13. Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13-14

It is our choice. We can either choose the narrow way that is difficult and be saved or we can choose the broad way which leads to destruction. Let's strive to be followers of Christ and to do His will so we can be blessed and inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world.

Satan Fights a Legal Battle

Satan tried to tempt Jesus into sinning against His Father, but he could not get him to do anything that was not the will of God!

1. Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.
3. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
4. But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"
5. Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6. and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
7. Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'"
8. Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."
10. Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"
11. Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:1-11.

It is easy to see that Satan is attacking Jesus in some way and that he has a very intense hatred toward Jesus. But it is not entirely clear why Satan is choosing to attack Jesus in this specific way. It is clear, however, that Satan was trying to make Jesus sin against God, and that Satan was never able to get any victory over Jesus.
Satan fights a very legal battle. It is easy to see that Satan was not trying to destroy Jesus physically. He was probably not allowed to hurt Jesus anyway. So Satan had to try to conduct a legal war by getting Jesus to sin against God. It is the only way that Satan can try to get back at God.
Satan lost his battle against Jesus but that has not stopped him. He is now continuing his war by attacking Christ's followers, trying to get them to sin against God. He claims this world as his and he expects all on this world to follow him, including Christ's followers. But they are decided followers of Jesus and will not follow Satan at all.

10. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:10,11 KJV.

And God has given them the Holy Spirit and the company of holy angels that allows them to stand up against Satan. Since they follow Jesus rather than Satan, Satan is not the complete ruler of this world, so he will lose the battle.
Satan was hoping to win over Jesus and his followers so that he would have a legal right to continue as the ruler of the earth. He wanted to set up his dominion in opposition to the kingdom of God. But I am getting ahead of the Biblical evidence.
Let's look at the evidence. We will start with the war as it started in Heaven.

Satan

Who is Satan? Why was he on the earth to tempt Eve? What does he have to gain? These are good questions. Let's look at what Scriptures say about his actions.

7. And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
8. but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
9. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:7-9 New King James Version

We see that Satan and his angels had a war in Heaven and they lost. So they were kicked out of Heaven. For some reason, God did not destroy them at that time and they were allowed to drag us into their war. As we read more scripture, we will realize why God did not destroy them at that time. We will need to look for the clues as they come from the Bible.

4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 2 Peter 2:4

6. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Jude 1:6

At the beginning Satan and his angels were happy and they lived in heaven with God and all the other angels. But now they are not able to keep their first estate in heaven because they were kicked out. God had to cast them out of heaven because they had sinned. Thus they are now in chains of darkness reserved unto the judgment of the great day.
We often think of Heaven as being an angelic place where nothing bad ever happens, a place where everyone is happy. Yet, here we see that there was a war, an intergalactic war that actually starts in Heaven where God lives!
Heaven must have been an extremely unhappy place for war to start where God lives! And in the next Bible text we will see that this unhappiness has spread to the earth as Satan and his angels were forced to retreat.

You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; I (will destroy) thee, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. Ezekiel 28:14-16 NKJV (will destroy) KJV

It is clear that Satan was originally one of the highest angels in Heaven. He was the anointed cherub that covers . . . Did his wings or whatever cover the throne of God. I do not know, but it looks like Satan originally had a very high position standing in the very presence of God!
One important point needs to be brought out: Notice that verse 15 says that God created this angel as being perfect. So originally, Satan had no sin. But in verse 16, we read that he became filled with violence. . . He became sinful. So the sin that is in Satan originated with Him, not God. God did not create Satan to be sinful.
What makes this war so very ominous is that it started so close to the throne of God? Lucifer's position in Heaven as the covering cherub allowed him to be on the holy mountain of God, midst the fiery stones where God is. How could that happen? How could War start with Lucifer being so close to God? What could have caused Lucifer to rebel against God Himself!
Verse 15 (above), says that Lucifer was originally perfect until iniquity was found in him. This must have been the time when the unhappiness started in heaven. This is when the rebellion started. We know that other angels followed Lucifer in his activities since they were also kicked out of heaven. So we can understand that Lucifer's unhappiness spread to others in Heaven. Lucifer and his followers must have been very unhappy. What could they have been talking about? What were the issues in the rebellion? Let's see if the answer can be found in the Bible.

How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol (hell), To the lowest depths of the Pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 NKJV

Now we can see why they were not happy under God's rule. Lucifer, who is now called Satan, the great dragon, is the one who wanted to take over God's throne in Heaven. He became jealous. Lucifer wanted to be like God. To say they were very unhappy is a major understatement. This is why there was war in Heaven. They actually attacked God Himself! This is an amazing thing when we consider that neither Satan nor his wicked angels are able to create nor are they able to fight on an equal par against God. So the war must be on an issue that does not involve the power of God.

You are not going to die

Satan speaks very confidently to Eve that she will not die. We can also see that Eve believes Satan as well. Yet, when we look into scripture to view the future, we can see that Satan can offer nothing of lasting value. He himself, will be destroyed in the lake of fire with all those who follow him. In the following commentary, on this page, it will be seen that Satan and the wicked angels know this very well. So, at a point in time they became aware that they would be destroyed.
From the Bible, we know that Satan rebelled against God. This is an amazing thing when we consider that neither Satan nor his wicked angels are able to create nor are they able to fight on an equal par against God. This is reflected in the text below.

But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation. Thus you shall say to them: "The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens." He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion. Jeremiah 10:10-12.

We might think that Jeremiah is only talking about things that people make with their hands and then turn around and call them gods. The stone and wood gods that they made clearly cannot make anything! However, the Bible does not stop with Jeremiah's statement. Look at what is stated in Deuteronomy:

They provoked Him to jealousy with foreign gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger. They sacrificed to demons, not to God, To gods they did not know, To new gods, new arrivals That your fathers did not fear. Deuteronomy 32: 16-17.

From the writings of Paul in The New Testament, we see even stronger confirmation indicating that worshiping an idol is really an act of worshiping demons.

What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 1 Corinthians 10:19-20

It should be clear that these gods (or demons) are really Satan and his evil angels, and that they have not made anything nor can they make anything. They will not be allowed to continue to live. They will be destroyed and they will have an end.
God alone will rule. Of the two opposing sides in the intergalactic war; Only God will rule because He is the Creator, this power is what separates the two sides.
Satan has never had the same power, and it is clear from the Scriptural texts below that the evil angels literally shook with fright when they confronted Christ while He was on the Earth.

Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!" But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. Luke 4:33-35

This kind of conflict didn't happen once, here is an other example of demons speaking out against Jesus:

When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"Matthew 8:28-29

This time the demon cried out saying: you came too soon. It's not time yet. "Have You come here to torment us Before the time?" The apostle James, in the Bible text below, said it well when he said the devils tremble!

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19.

So what is it that Satan and his opposing group of evil angels were trying to do? How did they think they could win against God?

Satan Tempts Eve
As soon as you eat the fruit from this tree

How does Satan gain the advantage when he gets Eve to sin against God? Satan wants Eve to eat the fruit so Satan can win some how. So, what does Satan get out of Eve's sin?
Our first clue comes from the book of Job. Not only are we told what happens to Job, but we also get to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Also understand that the story of Job is extremely important to the question: Why does God permits suffering?
As depicted in the book of Job, there is a meeting in Heaven. It must be in heaven because there is no record of God having regular meetings with the sons of God on Earth. In addition we find that Satan is also present and apparently he should not be there. At least it sounds like he is uninvited. Even God asks why he has come.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it." Job 1:6-7 NKJV

We most likely are looking at a meeting of extraterrestrials. Each member at the meeting is a representative of their own world. We can know that this is a meeting of representatives because of how Satan says he has a right to be there. We will see that Satan is saying that he is the representative of Earth! So what we have here is a system of government for the Universe that God Himself oversees.
Apparently this was an important event. In this meeting the sons of God are presenting themselves before the Lord. It seems that all who were there, except one, had a right to be there. At least we don't have any record of God questioning their presence. The whole point of this part of the story is that Satan was not invited. When God asked Satan why he was there, he essentially answered: from walking around on the Earth.
Is Satan claiming ownership? I think so. Remember, this intergalactic war is over the question of ownership of the throne of Heaven. Satan wants the throne. Apparently, Satan is starting a legal process that he thinks will allow him to take over one planet, the Earth.
In the meeting, Satan seems to conclude that he either owns or he rules our world. He is actually claiming rulership of the Earth in that meeting! That is why I think he went to the meeting. He sees himself as the leader of the whole planet Earth. This meeting most likely is a meeting of the leaders of the Universe with God; So Satan felt he had a right to be there.
We can determine this point of rulership further from the following discussion:

Then the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? So Satan answered the LORD and said, Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face! And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person. So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. Job 1:8-12.

Because of the fact that God answers Satan, we should understand that what they were talking about was extremely important! Why didn't God just throw Satan out? God already threw Satan out of Heaven once before. God could have thrown Satan out again, but He didn't. He definitely has the power to do so. But instead, God just questioned Satan verbally and challenged his stated position.
We should realize that the manner in which God answered Satan is important as well. They were not talking by themselves, there was an audience surrounding them. All the representatives of the Universe were there personally witnessing what was happening.
Remember, we most likely are looking at a meeting of extraterrestrials. Each member at the meeting is a representative of their own world. A system of government for the Universe that God Himself oversees.
Since Satan himself has rebelled against God, we can see that the rebellion was trying to enter into the system of government of God's Universe! If it was a matter of power, God could have destroyed Satan right there, or He could have just thrown him out. But God did not. Instead, God entered into dialog with him.
Let's talk about the dialog itself. If this discussion wasn't concerning ownership or rulership of the Earth; then, why does God answer Satan's statement of walking over the face of the Earth, with: "Have you considered my servant Job. . ."?
In this discussion, by saying that he walks over the face of the earth; What Satan is really saying is this: that he has control of the Earth. So God begins questioning Satan's claim by pointing his attention to Job, whom Satan is not able to control. What God is doing, is to show that Satan really does not control the world. So, God emphasizes the fact that Job is upright, just, and that he fears God.
I can imagine that Satan here begins to squirm as he essentially says: Well of course Job likes you. You give him everything he wants, why wouldn't he obey You? So God tells him: OK, I'll let you try. We'll see who really is in control, but you can't touch his body to make him sick.
If you read the book of Job, you will see that Job does not know a thing about this discussion. He is clearly having a hard time with the reality of his bad fortune. In addition he is forced to consider, from an earthly point of view, why all sorts of bad things are happening to him. Satan seems to be controlling all Job's personal friends as well.
This story is very interesting. Apparently Satan's ownership of the Earth depends upon everyone being subject to Satan's leading. As long as Job was a decided follower of God, Satan could not claim the Earth. We actually do not know if Job was the only follower of God, but at least he was the one that God chose to mention.
Does this war Between God and Satan depend upon the allegiance of people? It would seem so, the whole story in the book of Job is dependent on the idea that things will be decided, on what one person does on earth. If Job continues to follow God then God has the advantage, on the other hand, if Job listened to his wife and friends and cursed God, then Satan would have had the advantage. That is if he was the only righteous person on the world.
Something really terrible and awful must have happened in Heaven when Satan rebelled. To have a third of all the angels of Heaven take off to side with Satan, against God in a war. Remember this rebellion happened in Heaven! How could this happen? To have the angels who live in Heaven, in the very presence of God, to rebel against God himself!
What did Satan do to the angels to have them rebel against God? What did he say to them that would make them fight against God Himself?
We know that God is all powerful, that He created all things. So why would they decide to enter a war that could not be won by power? They must have known something about God perhaps. It is quite possible that they knew enough about God that they were confident that God would play fair. God would keep to the rules of the Universe that He has created. So they knew that this war must be over opinions rather than power. All the worlds of the Universe might have to decide who is right in this war.
It is also possible, that because Satan is the source of evil in the Universe, that he and his new followers just became so selfish that they lost all sense of reason when they started demanding things of God. They knew that God would play by the rules even when they broke the rules. They probably thought they could take advantage of God.
Let's continue the story of Job to see how it ends out.
A second meeting of the sons of God with God is described in Job chapter two. Again the same issues are brought up but with slightly different specifics in the arguments. Satan failed the first time around to change Job's allegiance from God to himself. So this time he is calling fowl. He still claims the Earth as his and he wants even more power in trying to force Job to obey him. Read the account and see what happens.

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. And the LORD said to Satan, From where do you come? So Satan answered the LORD and said, From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it. Then the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause. So Satan answered the LORD and said, Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face! And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life. So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. Job 2:1-7.

We can see from the actual text that Satan still claims the Earth. It seems that Satan believes that if all people were under his control then the Earth would rightfully belong to him! There also seems to be some truth to Satan's claim since God counters Satan on the very level that Satan is thinking on.
It seems that these meetings are a regular event and here, God counters Satan's claim by pointing to Job which Satan was unable to control. God adds to what He said before by stating: he still holds to his integrity. Also very interesting to note, we see that God takes the blame! He doesn't say that Satan is moving to destroy Job but He says that you have moved me against him, to destroy him.
Let's look at another clue to this war.

You will be like God

Let's study how Satan attacked Eve. We see that Eve was exploring the garden that God had given them when she approached the forbidden tree. As she was wondering why God did not want them to eat from that tree, Satan went in for the attack:

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die." Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Genesis 3:1-6 NKJV

When Satan came to our world with two people on it, some how he had to win their allegiance to him. This is according to what we found out from Job's experience. He had to become their leader in order to take over the world. As we can see in the third chapter of Genesis, Satan used deception to not only place doubt in the mind of Eve about God, but he was really saying that God is not fair. Satan played on her emotions to get her to want to become like God herself.
It is amazing what Satan had done. In just a few words, he was able to give Eve a whole new series of ideas.

God could be lying. God could be holding back on her. Eve wanted more than what she has, she wanted to become like God.

Now, her thoughts were directed to the idea that God is not being fair to her. God is lying while He holds back what should rightfully be hers. While she thinks these kind of thoughts, desire now becomes the major motive that forces her to eat the forbidden fruit.
Earlier, we saw that Satan himself wanted to become like God. Now we see that he is tempting Eve with the very same thought in mind. This is very interesting, we now see that Satan tempted Eve using the same thirst for power, the same desire to become like God, that Satan himself felt. Satan literally gave the same sins that he had, to Eve. The same desires he had for power, he gave to Eve.
It stands to reason, that Satan used the same strategy in Heaven as he later used on earth with Eve. He some how made all of the angels who followed him to be unsatisfied with their positions in Heaven. Maybe Satan's followers became jealous of God. Satan must have told them that God was holding back on them, and that they should have more power.
The same wicked desires that Satan has, he gave to his angels, to take over God's throne and have the power for themselves. That is why these angels are evil today. They have the same desires as Satan and they work along with him in destroying the human race. They will do anything to get their own wishes and takeover God's Throne.
By looking at the history of our world, it is obvious that Satan and his evil angels have been trying to convert the world to their side so they can claim the world as their own. In fact they have almost always had the majority siding with them. Only a minority has ever followed God. However, there has always been at least one person who was true to God. There was always a Noah, Abraham, or Joseph, or even a Job to give God the advantage.

When the woman realized it was Good

Eve, as she is realizing that Satan is correct, she is now passing her allegiance from God to Satan. One third of all the angels had already decided to follow Satan, now Eve is doing the same thing.
The issues Satan is raising, are apparently powerful arguments. If Satan was able to win a third of all the angels in Heaven, and now the newly created Eve, what sort of questions might the people on the other worlds have?
Do the people in the other worlds know anything about the war at all? It seems that they do. In the meetings depicted in the first two chapters of Job, we saw that everything was done out in the open. Both Satan and God spoke in front of all the other representatives from the other planets of the Universe. Everything that happened occurred in front of everyone!
God actually listens to Satan and answers his charges rather than throwing him out. When Satan says that Job will curse God to his face. God says, OK, why don't you try and see what Job will do. When Satan comes back after having failed the first time, he is still combative saying that if he can make Job really hurt with pain and sickness, Job will then curse God. God answers Satan by allowing him to try again, and harder than he was allowed the first time with physical pain.
It seems that God is allowing Satan's accusations to be tried out in front of the whole universe. He is not allowing his question to be unanswered. Which makes sense when we consider that all the representatives are listening.
At the same time, Satan is having to act out his intentions before the whole universe as well. How far is Satan willing to go in destroying those around him so he can acquire ownership of a world? What kind of government would Satan have? What would be the character of his government? Is Satan really offering a better idea than God?
So maybe the other worlds are watching the events of this war and maybe they do have questions about what is going on in the rebellion. It looks like the whole universe has had to grapple with the idea that there is a rebellion that started in the very place where God is! How could that be? In addition, Satan, as can be understood in the book of Job, met with God in an open way that is most likely designed to create the most questions in the minds of the Leaders of the Universe.
In the Bible we have seen some of the evidence that the war is about people's opinion. On the earth, it seems that it concerns people's allegiance. Who will we serve, Jesus or Satan. In Heaven, where a third of the angels chose Satan, it looks like the same issues were important. What about the rest of the Universe? What are the issues that they are looking at in this rebellion?
Why does he really want to take over the throne. Is it because God really is a tyrant and that Satan is trying to protect us by showing us a better way of living? Or is it that Satan himself is the real tyrant, that he is the selfish one, and he only wants the power of the throne for himself?
In addition, God and Satan seem to be following a set of rules. Thus, the battle is probably a legal or technical battle.
If there is not a real war between God and Satan, then how might we explain the things happening in the world? Is this thing of having Satan tempt us, and God letting it happen, all a game? What is really happening in the stories we read in the Bible? Is there an actual battle for the ownership of the Earth that is occurring behind the scenes to explain what is happening? Or, do we have God and Satan playing games with the human race in the middle? It will take a knowledge of the entire Bible to answer what is really happening.
Either God and Satan are playing a game with us in the center, the object of their attention, or Satan is really attacking God.
When Satan has gone over the line, when he goes too far and tries to take the throne (as indicated in Daniel 11:45-12:3), then it will be time for Jesus to come down and to take us to live with Him. He will at that time end the misery that continues to presently plaque our world. Death, destruction, and suffering will come to an end at last!

She took, Ate it, and He Ate it

Initially, Adam and Eve had ownership of the world. God gave the world and all the animals to Adam. See what God said when He first made them:

26. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
27. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
29. And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
30. "Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so. Genesis 1:26-30

When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they both sinned against God. In that act they lost ownership of the world and they gave it to Satan.

6. So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Genesis 3:6

Adam would have forever been the head of our world but now he has lost his position and his possession as ruler of the earth, and Satan now rules. When Jesus was on this earth He Himself said that Satan was the ruler of this ruler.

30. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. John 14:30

Also, in the Lord's prayer, Jesus says:

9. "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10

We are still praying for God's will to occur on earth as it is in Heaven. We are praying for this because His will is still not yet happening fully. Jesus has not yet taken authority of our world. Yes, that is right. Satan is still the ruler of this world. Death and destruction are still occurring all around us. Jesus still has not taken our world away from Satan. We know that is true because we are still here!
However, Jesus especially talked about Satan, that he will be cast out and judged.

31. Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. John 12:31

11. of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. John 16:11

Adam and Eve were hopelessly lost and facing total destruction. However, Jesus with pity for the human race has stepped in to reclaim both them and the world. As we continue to study the Bible we can see that it will take some time for Jesus to reclaim the ownership from Satan:

44. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? Matthew 22:44

Jesus has had to wait until God the Father makes His enemies his footstool.

The Court in Heaven

In Revelation, starting with chapter 4 we see that there is a court session in Heaven. Daniel refers to this same session in Daniel 7:9-10.

9. "I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire;
10. A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened. Daniel 7:9-10

This occurs at the time of the end. In Revelation we see that there are two witnesses who are here on earth for 3-1/2 years until Satan himself kills them. This is the only time that we know of that Satan actually kills someone himself, personally. In Bible times, it took two people to convict someone. Is this needed for the court proceedings? It might be.
Also, in Daniel 11 & 12 we have Satan sitting down in Jerusalem as God (The Abomination of Desolation), sitting where he should not sit. This action seems to be "the straw that breaks the camel's back". When Satan sits down, Michael stands up (Daniel 12) and the battle of Armageddon occurs. Satan is not only saying he is the ruler of this world, he is saying he is God!
God attacks Satan and his angels and the end of the world comes as Jesus comes to receive His own. Satan has to overstep his authority before God stands up to take away his dominion. So there seems to be a legal battle that is occurring between Jesus and Satan. But one day the court will be in session and Satan's dominion will be taken away from him.

26. But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever. Daniel 7:26.

Issues that will eventually be brought up in court so that Satan can be thrown out, have not even occurred yet. Today, Jesus has not yet taken His authority over the earth. It is only much later in the future when Satan tries to sit down as God (The Abomination of Desolation) that God stands up and the end of all things comes to be.
The time that Jesus will rule the earth (the kingdoms of this world) will not occur until the Seventh Trumpet sounds.

15. And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
16. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17. Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
18. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. Revelation 11:15-18

It will not be until the Seventh Trumpet sounds that the Kingdom of God will also include the kingdoms of this world, in other words, the earth. At that time, Jesus will reign for ever and ever and all the angels of heaven will rejoice because Jesus has taken His great power and has finally began to reign.

You will bite His heel
Satan will attack God's people in the time of the End.

Satan was instrumental in having Jesus Christ put to death when He was on earth. Rather than being the end of Jesus, it signaled the beginning of the end of Satan. Christ's death is also the means whereby he will save the righteous. Satan has never gotten the best of Jesus or God.
Another plan of attack that Satan has, is to force all people to worship him. If he can force all to follow him instead of God, then he has won! However, If there is even a small minority, even one left who chooses to follow God then Satan has lost!
Satan must have the allegiance of all the people on the earth for him to rule it; And we can see in Daniel and Revelation that he will kill anyone who does not choose him as their leader. Satan will do anything to get to his goal.
There is a time, at the end of this world's history, when Satan will pull all the stops in a desperate effort to have a whole world worship him instead of God. Jesus calls this time the time of sorrows. At this time, the end of the world, Satan will either win and have a world, or he will loose everything including life.
Let's look at some prophecies to see what Satan will do to try to stand on the throne of God. I have color coded the following texts to indicate various activities: Red indicates what Satan will do to God's people. Green indicates what Satan will do to blaspheme God and try to take God's throne. Orange indicates what God does to judge Satan and to give the saints the kingdom.

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.

I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them,

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever.

until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. Daniel 7:7-8, 21, 25-26, 22 NKJV

We start in the 7th verse of Daniel 7 by seeing that Satan is breaking in pieces and trampling the residue with its feet. The residue is really God's people. He is killing the remnant of God's people. Satan is allowed to prevail over God's people for a time, times, and part of a time. All this happens until Judgment occurs in Heaven and Satan is stopped.
This action of killing God's people, is confirmation that Satan does indeed have to have the vote of everyone living on the Earth for him to take the throne. We can see that the results of this intergalactic war is indeed dependent upon opinion.
Satan has started to eliminate the people who would stand in his way of being the king and leader of this world. Remember, Satan has to have as followers, everyone on earth who is alive. If Satan cannot trick the righteous into following him, then he will try to kill them outright.
In Daniel chapter 8, we see the same exact things happening.

And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered. Daniel 8:9-12 NKJV

Now we can see that Satan will try to exalt himself to the level of Jesus our Prince. Satan can be seen as trying to take over the whole world and exalt himself as the Prince of the host!
In Revelation, we see the exact same actions we saw in Daniel. I have color coded the following texts to indicate various activities: Red indicates what Satan will do to God's people. Green indicates what Satan will do to blaspheme God and try to take God's throne. Purple indicates what the wicked will do to serve Satan.

"Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time." Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:12-13, 17.

Satan is enraged with all who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Satan knows he does not have much time left and he knows he needs to kill everyone who is loyal to God. We can see that Satan is enraged with those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
It is clear that anyone who keeps all the commandments of God and has the testimony of Jesus, is indeed loyal to God because they worship God with what they do and with what they say. They are completely loyal to God!

And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:3-8, 11-17.

We can see that the wicked worships the dragon (Satan) and the beast. All people who do not have their name written in the Book of Life will worship Satan! To get this to happen Satan had to deceive the whole world. They worship Satan because they want to save their own life, crying out: Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him? They easily see that the beast is too powerful for them and that they will only lose their life if they try to fight it so they choose life. In reality they are choosing death because they are then following Satan.
Satan causes all to receive a mark and that no one can buy or sell unless they have this mark. Later they will find out that they have lost everything when they thought to save their own skin and receive the mark.
It should be clear that the righteous of the world, living in the last days, will experience the same thing that Job experienced. Satan has probably demanded that all the people of the world are his and God probably said: "OK try them". So all who will not worship the image of the beast will be ordered to be killed.
The last days are the trying time for God's people and the battle between Jesus and Satan is dependent upon what the righteous do. If they hold up, just as Job did; Then Jesus will be victorious in the war.
There are many ways Satan can get the allegiance of the people of this world. One of the most dramatic ways is to have people curse God, as he wanted Job to do. Or to disobey what God would have us do. Another way is to make us so busy that we have no time for God. In this way, the things we are doing have become our god.
Today, so many people have become indifferent to the idea of serving God that they will do anything to get ahead in this world. Other things have become more important in their thinking, like living and surviving. So they will do anything that Satan wants them to do just so they can save their skin. There are some who see a real need to get close to God; However, they keep putting off making a decision. Satan keeps putting ideas and feelings to get them sidetracked.
Since Satan is working so hard to get people to look at him for direction, it must be extremely important to him. Obviously, if people don't follow him, he loses his fight! So yes, its important to him. Let's look to see what really makes Satan furiously angry:

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17.

Those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ are those who Satan cannot control. And remember, if Satan cannot control everyone, he will lose his goal to rule the world and lose the war against God. It is no wonder that Satan is angry.
All that he has tried to do to get them to follow him has failed. God's people will not follow Satan's lead at all. Rather, they have chosen to follow and do all what the Lord wants them to do. At this point Satan is so enraged with God's people that he wars against them to put them to death. Since he cannot control them, he will try to exterminate them.
To remind you what we saw in Daniel and Revelation, here is a synopsis of Satan's actions against the Righteous in the last days:

Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Revelation 12:12 it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. Daniel 7:7 he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. Revelation 12:13 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17 and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Revelation 13:15 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. Revelation 13:7 yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. Daniel 11:33 He. . . shall persecute the saints of the Most High, Daniel 7:25 Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. Daniel 7:25 (It) was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, Daniel 7:21 it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. Daniel 12:7

It is clear, from the Bible itself, that God's people will not be taken away in some rapture. But rather, we have seen actual scripture that shows that God's people will be hunted and killed for obeying God. God's people will be like Job, experiencing adversity, yet remaining loyal to God even if it means death!
Elsewhere, in the book of Revelation, we see that the righteous are again identified as those who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus:

12. Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12.

In a time of great hardship, as described in Revelation, God's people are identified as those needing endurance (patience) to continue till the end. Again, this group is identified as those who keep the commandments of God and remain loyal to Jesus. It will indeed require patience on their part, as they are being hunted and killed. But they hang on because they know that Jesus will one day come to save them from their trouble.

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14.

When God's people inherit a new life with God, it is because they have been completely loyal to God by keeping his commandments and following him in all ways that they will have a right to eat from the tree of life, and they will have the right to enter into the gates of the New Jerusalem where we will live with God forever.

He will crush your head
At some point, Satan will go too far!

Satan will try to take over the world and endeavor to force all the inhabitants of the world to follow him, and he will do his best to kill anyone that goes against his plans. However, as indicated in Scripture: Satan will come to his end. He will be destroyed.
Red indicates what Satan will do to God's people. Green indicates what Satan will do to blaspheme God and try to take God's throne. Purple indicates what the wicked will do to serve Satan. Blue indicates what God's people, the righteous will do to serve God. Orange indicates what God does to judge Satan and to give the saints the kingdom.

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever.

until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. Daniel 7:25-26, 22 NKJV

When Satan tries to Sit on the Throne and Rule the Earth, God then will Stand Up and End the War!
We can see the same process but with more detail in Daniel 11. Satan will see that he can not turn the righteous toward serving him. So, in desperation, he will try to sit on the throne anyway despite the fact that he has no right to do so. It is at that time that God will stop him in his tracts because he will have gone too far. Look at the following texts:

And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.

Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.

At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. Daniel 11:31-33,36,45;12:1.

Wow! In the verses above, we actually see that Satan will defile the sanctuary fortress, take away the daily, and place there the abomination of desolation. He will put his palace on the glorious holy mountain of God for the purpose of declaring himself as king.
When Satan places the abomination of desolation (planting his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain) he is saying: I rule the earth! In this action that Satan does, he over steps his bounds. He has gone too far. He does not rule the earth because he has not been able to get all to worship him. Nor was he able to make Jesus sin when He was on this earth.
It is then that Michael (Jesus) stands up and Satan will come to his end! A time of trouble will occur at this time that will be unequaled in history and God's people will be delivered. Everyone who is found written in the book of life will be delivered!
Many think that everything has been done at the Cross, when Jesus died. However, here in Daniel, we find that it is when Satan sits down as the ruler on Earth, this is when God begins to act! God brings an end to Satan and his war against God and God's people. Satan has gone too far in fighting God and He will bring Satan to an end.
In the Book of Job, we saw that Job was tested for a time, however when it was all over, God rewarded him. God set things right.
In the last days, we will find that God's people will also be tested for a time, but when Satan steps over the line and sits down as God, then all evil will be brought to an end. It is at that time that the signs of God's wrath will be given unmixed with mercy. The plaques will be poured on the earth and God's people will be delivered.
Jesus, when He was on earth, mentioned this time as well:

Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. Matthew 24:15-22.

Jesus says that when you see the abomination of desolation, when you see Satan standing in the holy place, where he should not be, then you better flee somewhere! Apparently it is going to be so bad, that if this period was not shortened, no one on earth would be able to live through it.
In the past, we have had nuclear bombs landing on a few cities and we have had wide spread wars. Who knows what might happen at this time of the end. Satan has lost the battle to get everyone to worship him, so now he is going to be desperately trying to take his rulership position by force. Since he is fighting against the Creator of all things he cannot win. Maybe much of Satan's actions is really due to revenge.
At this time Psalms 91 will be a very good source of comfort to God's people since they know that God will protect His people in this time.

God's people will be taken up to live with Jesus

Satan will eventually overstep his bounds when he tries to sit down as God. Then Michael will stand up and the court in Heaven will give every thing to Jesus. Once this happens, then Jesus comes back to our world to rescue His people.
As we have seen, the Bible presents a unified view of the war between God and Satan. It is when we start to study Daniel and especially Revelation that these things become evident.

Presently there are seven questions.

The first question: How can satan claim the earth when psalm 24:1 says the earth is the Lords? I see your point of issues raised in God's courts but I am confident that our mighty Lord Jesus settled all accounts at the cross. Jesus said it is finished. Satan has power but he's not omnipresent omnipotent omniscience. He can only do what God allows.

We should not confuse God's power with this legal process.
I have friends who I visited once (we all went to school together so it was great to talk). They had a new son and they were having problems. At night, he would often wake up screaming from a bad dream. It seemed that he had these dreams often and they were concerned but they did not know what to do about it. I asked them if they asked God to protect their son from the attacks of evil angels, and they shook their heads no. For some reason, they never even thought of asking God for help. I told them that if they did not pray for their son, that he would be open ground for the evil angels to attack him.
The boy is too young to pray for himself, so it is the privilege and duty for the parents to pray for their children.
They started praying for their son every night, and immediately, it all stopped. What a change! I think my friends gained a much deeper appreciation of the war that is going over us, but especially of the help and love that God has for each one of us. God is always willing and waiting for us to ask for help. When we come to God, we place ourselves under His care and protection. There is nothing that Satan and his evil angels can do except what God allows them to do. Never forget that!
In the story of Job, when Satan comes to the meeting, he accuses God of over stepping His bounds in protecting Job. "Job really does not care for you", he says; "he only likes your gifts". In response, Jesus then tells him what He will allow him to do to Job. That is what happened both times they met. Satan can only do what God allows him to do.
Yes, I agree with you that Jesus has all the power. The power that Satan has is what God allows him to have. No more than that. Boy are we blessed!
However, Something else seems to be happening because Jesus does allow Satan to temp and harass Job in trying to destroy him. That seems clear. Why does God allow Satan to try to destroy Job? Obviously, the war is still going on and Job's worship of God must be tested.
So why does God still allow Satan to try to destroy us today? If all accounts were settled at the cross, then why are we still here? Why are we still being tempted. Why is our faith still being tested?
I believe that if every thing had been done at the cross, then evil would have been destroyed at that time. If the battle was won at the cross, why was not Satan thrown out at that time? But it is not. God is still allowing Satan to destroy people. Evil is being propagated and today, conditions are getting worse not better. It should be obvious that everything was NOT finished at the cross.
You are right, God claims this world.

26. I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever;His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. Daniel 6:26.

If both God and Satan did not claim our world, there would be no war. But it is clear in Scripture that there is indeed a battle for our world. There is a battle for the mind and it is still going on. It is not finished yet.
Now, What about the fact that when Jesus was on the cross, He said "it is finished". Doesn't that mean that every thing was finished at the cross?
When Jesus died, He paid the ultimate price for me and you. However, that was not the only time that Jesus is going to say "it is finished"! I believe that the Cross was one big step in the process. But there are other steps that is indicated in Scripture as well. Look at the following Scripture:

17. Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" Revelation 16:17.

6. And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. Revelation 21:6.

Now notice what happens when the seventh angel sounds his trumpet! It is at that time and not before that the world becomes fully the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ!

19. And he said, "Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be. Daniel 8:19.

So at an appointed time the end will come. In Revelation, we find that this appointed time is when the seventh angel sounds:

6. and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,
7. but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. Revelation 10:6-7.

15. Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"
16. And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, Revelation 11:15-16.

So when the seventh angel sounds, which is yet future! It is then, and only then, that the mystery of God will be at an end and God and His Son, Jesus will begin to reign over all the kingdoms of the earth!
Satan will quickly lose all of his power to continue his torture of God's creations. God will at that time will begin to set things back to the way they should be, without sin and destruction. And the righteous will be taken up to be with Christ!
We must not forget the book of Revelation when we study what Jesus does for us to save us; Because, that last book of the Bible has so much of the information that we have of Jesus Christ! I think we only have a partial Gospel when we leave out what Revelation has to say. You know, the book of Revelation has a longer title: The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

1. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,
2. who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. Revelation 1:1-2.

The second question: You ask why does God allow suffering on earth, does he not care? Then you say the answer lies in the Bible because there is/was a war in Heaven and Satan brought the war to earth. Do you see the fallacy in the whole thing. Its like turtles on turtles. Why would God (being all powerful etc.) allow suffering in Heaven. Why would he allow it anywhere? Maybe the answer lies not in celestial battles but in our own nature and nature itself. Science can try to explain a lot these days. Not celestial battles, though, unless it's battles between Suns, Planets and Black Holes.

You have a very interesting question. If indeed God is all-powerful, why would He permit anarchy and suffering?
What if God had offered all His creations (subjects) complete freedom. God could very easily force all His created beings into obeying Him. He is all powerful, He could do that. However, what if He really does value the free choice of His creations. How can God allow free choice if He forces all to obey Him? He cannot, God cannot do both. It does not make sense!
Even though God is all powerful, God cannot just zap people out of existence or to change their memory, etc. because that would go against His goal of having His creations with free choice. From the Bible, we see that it goes against what God's wishes to do. It would go against God's own value system because He is merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abounding in goodness and truth (Exodus 34:6).
To say it another way: What if God wanted all His creations to worship Him by choice and not because He forces them to worship Him? How would He do that? Would He destroy all who would choose to go against Him before they are able to do so? Would He just change their thinking so they don't even know what they were thinking about earlier? Would He have created His creations so they could not have revolted against Him?
No, none of these options work. God Himself would know that He was not allowing complete free choice. If God really wanted His creations to actually love Him and appreciate what He does for them. He would have to work out this rebellion/sin problem right out in front of the whole universe, so that God's own created beings would be able to know for themselves, what God is like and they would be able to choose to really serve Him. They would want to serve Him!
When I read the Bible, I see evidence that God really does value free choice and freedom for His creations. We can see that in the stories of the Bible. We do not see God changing people's thoughts, but rather, we see that God works with us so that we can make a free choice.

10. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

13. For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.' Isaiah 41:10,13.

On the other hand, it is Satan who forces others to follow and serve him. When people are possessed, they no longer have the will to leave Satan behind. Satan takes control of them and he will never let them go, not if he can help it. We also see that Satan tries to either trick or he will use fear to force people into serving Him. In addition, we find that when Satan cannot get a person to follow Him, he will want to try to kill them.

The 3rd question: You make a good point. If I were God I would also allow my creation free choice. That is not in dispute for me. The problem with this free choice is that it is extremely unequally distributed. You just have to look around and you will see that not everyone has the "free choice" which God "intended" us to have. I give an example: What if there are so many set-backs in your life that you give up hope and come to the conclusion that there is no point to your life (don't misinterpret, I am not suggesting I have those feelings to a higher degree). Albert Einstein wrote (I got this quote from a book given to me by a Jehovah's Witness): "The man who regards his life as meaningless is not merely unhappy but hardly fit for life". Do you see how true to human nature this statement is. According to Einstein these people do not deserve to live. Nature is like that. Survival of the fittest and forget about the weak. So my point is, its nature at work and not a loving God of the Bible who helps you (as long as you accept Him) like the stories in the Old Testament. Then, having said all this, maybe we chose this path to come closer to God. Maybe (almost surely) it takes a lot of first-hand knowledge of good and evil in order to understand deeply the importance of love. Maybe it's the only way we can learn and not fall back into temptation? You say God does not allow Satan to do anything He does not allow. How blessed we are! In Revelation's he does allow Satan to go very far. Or is what really is being said: He allows man to go very far before he puts a stop to it. The Bible should not be taken too literally. Look at the people who die unnecessarily because they take the Bible literally. "You shall not eat blood" i.e. according to JW's that means no blood transfusions. Quite a few children of JW's have unnecessarily died because their parents took these Bible words literally. Just something to think about.

You are right, there are so many things in this world that are unfair. Sure enough, survival of the fittest does seem to reign supreme on this earth. Existence on this earth is sometimes pure survival. Some people try to get ahead in this world and they don't seem to have a chance.
I do not believe that laws like the survival of the fittest are what the Lord had in mind when He created the world and the Universe. I believe that they became law on this world when Adam and Eve fell into sin. Satan himself does not want people to have free choice at all. If people were to choose God instead of him, then Satan would lose out, as he will in the end.
A week ago, or so, I read the story on the judgment on the house of Jeroboam, found in I Kings 14. What happened is that the son of Jeroboam, king of Israel, a wicked king became sick. Jeroboam told his wife to disguise herself and go to Ahijah the prophet to ask him what will become of his son. There were other elements to the disguise, but of course, God told His prophet what was happening. When she came, he said: come in wife of Jeroboam, why do you pretend to be another person? Well, the prophet told her that because king Jeroboam, whom God had placed over Israel, did not follow God but acted wickedly, this king was extremely wicked; that disaster will strike his family. Every male member will see death.
Now the point that I want to make is this: This son who became sick, that originally caused Jeroboam's wife to see the prophet, was the only thing in Jeroboam's family that was good. So because this son was good, he was going to be the only one who would die a natural death. All the other members were going to have violent deaths.
This is what is said in 1 Kings 14:12-13.

12. Arise therefore, go to your own house. When your feet enter the city, the child shall die.
13. And all Israel shall mourn for him and bury him, for he is the only one of Jeroboam who shall come to the grave, because in him there is found something good toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

Here is a story that, on the outside, seems to indicate that this son had no chance at all. He had the wrong father, and so he had to die because all members of his family were to be killed. However, I believe that God will save that son when Jesus comes in the clouds of heaven to take back His people to be with Him. Apparently, that son had decided to follow God. He had that freedom of choice, and God is going to reward that choice when Jesus comes again.
So here is a story of a son who had the wrong father. It looks like he had the worst of luck and that he would never have a chance of doing anything ever again. However, if we look at this story from a different perspective, we find that it is the opposite of our original view of the story. That boy was allowed to die only after he had chosen to follow God. He had already exercised his free will to choose God. Now, the next moment that he will be aware of, when Jesus comes to collect His righteous people and take them to heaven, this boy will be among them. He has exercised his free will and God will reward that choice!
There are also places in the Bible where it says that God will cause some righteous people to have short lives. Now that can be seen as a bad thing, because nobody really wants to die. However, this is actually a good thing.
Scripture shows that when the righteous die, God is being merciful to them by separating them from the evil of this world. They will be brought up again when all the evil is past.

1. Help, LORD, for the godly man ceases For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. Psalm 12:1

The loss of the righteous among the wicked in today's world often seems like something to worry about. However, it is actually the mercy of God that allows the righteous to rest in peace.

1. The righteous perishes, And no man takes it to heart; Merciful men are taken away, While no one considers That the righteous is taken away from evil.
2. He shall enter into peace; They shall rest in their beds, Each one walking in his uprightness. Isaiah 57:1-2

The righteous person is taken away from the evil of the world but he will one day arise again when Jesus comes. The next verse adds to the idea of God's mercy:

19. Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
20. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. Isaiah 26:19-21

So, in mercy, God asks His people to rest a little while. He says: "enter thou into thy chambers (the grave), and shut thy doors about thee and hide yourself as it were for a little moment until all this trouble is ended". Only after the trouble and God's indignation (wrath) is ended will God's people wake up and sing. That is the day when the earth will cast out the dead. It is the resurrection of the righteous at the last day.

12. So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! Job 14:12-13

The righteous are allowed to sleep while trouble covers the Earth. We know that trouble will greatly increase as we approach the end of the world. Thus this sleep will increasingly be a special blessing toward the end of time. The last phrase; However, is especially important: "and remember me!" reminds us that the most important part is coming. It is the time when Jesus wakes the righteous. Thus the cry for God to remember us is especially important!
Also, as we get older, we can get tired of the wickedness and trouble that surrounds us. In the end of time there will be a special time of trouble. It will be a time such as there never was before, so great will the trouble be. As a blessing to us, God will hide many of us in the grave but he gives us that special promise that He will raise us up again, after the time of God's great wrath against the wicked.
God wants to preserve His people from destruction. Sometimes the only way to do that is to have them die sooner than later. After all, the very next thing that the righteous people will see when they die is Jesus, when He comes to take all His people home with Him.
Life on this world is very short, usually under a hundred years. However, once this war is over between Jesus and Satan, all those who have chosen God will no longer be tempted and attacked by Satan, and they will be able to explore the whole universe for googles of years, and that is only the beginning ( 1 google is 1 x 10¹⁰⁰ or 1 with a hundred zeros after it.)
Now, what happens to those who become discouraged? I remember that John the Baptist was discouraged and later he lost his head (he was killed). But I believe that He will be saved in spite of his discouragement.
Here is a verse showing that God treats a good man or a righteous man differently from the wicked when they fall. If a wicked man who is a evildoer, falls; God will cut them off. They will be no more. But we know that the meek will inherit the earth. If a good man falls for some reason, God will hold them up! He will not utterly cast them down!

23. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.
24. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. Psalm 37:23-24

I believe, that in spite of what looks like to us today as being totally unfair, I see that in the end, in spite of the fact that things are not fair today, that God will make things fair in the end. He will turn the tables. Even though Satan has caused total unfairness in this world, God will turn wrong into right judgement. He will judge fairly and with compassion to the righteous!
Just, remember! At the end, Jesus will raise up the righteous when He comes. At that time all the wrongs will be righted.

1. "At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.
2. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:1-2.

The 4th question: As a Christian I always wondered why God allowed Satan to exist after his rebellion. It makes no sense that a loving God would allow Satan to wreck havoc on his beloved creation - Mankind. I just don't believe it. Satan should have been destroyed immediately if God didn't have a greater purpose for him. God can end this war with Satan right now! Unless God doesn't have power or authority over Satan...that makes more sense. And God should make sense. I know it is in the Bible, but we all better hope that everything in the Bible is not true. It is important to focus on what matters in terms of our relationship with Jesus and our fellow man. I think it is appropriate that all Christians reject any doctrine in the Bible or otherwise that is not consistent with a loving God. The essence of the Bible is clear, but it is far from clear as to the many mysteries of human plight. Why would God allow Satan (to have) dominion over the earth, unless God had a specific purpose for Satan. In that case, Satan was part of a master plan and (is) not responsible for God's orchestrations. It really is that simple...I heard a lot of scholars talk on this but they don't really make much sense. They preach free will as if that really answers such complex question of the creation of sin and who is responsible. And I felt guilty if I didn't believe it. It makes no sense and it speaks poorly to God's Character if he would allow a supernatural monster temp his weak creation. Who is going to win that battle? In this scenario, God appears weak unable to tame one of his experiments gone astray. And we are weak to temptation as we have proven time and time again .. it is our God given nature. Satan has been successful in disrupting God's desire for mankind on every level in some degree. Why wouldn't this supernatural monster have an influence in what is in the Bible that would confuse God's loving character. Why is the Bible exempt, when God's precious creations are not...makes no sense. In the end the Saints win, but it comes at a high price...billions and billions of people going to eternal hell? Consider this, God was so frustrated with his creation he destroyed every man, women and child in the great flood accept for Noah's family. All was not good. Not one child was worth saving, but God allows Satan to thrive in the tempting and destruction of mankind on a supernatural level? This myth has done more harm to God's credibility than anything and I refuse to believe it. Instead of leaving the faith because of superstition, Christians have to judge the Bible in the context of truth, not blind faith. Where ever there is man, Satan is in their midst. Trust me...he was there when the Bible was authored. What influence Satan had I can't say, but we do have 1000's of religions to add to the confusion. It is okay with me that God is not perfect, but more important loving and wanting to protect us from the evil forces. And why wouldn't God struggle with evil. If Lucifer can rebel in heaven and seduce in heaven a third of the angels this is strong evidence that God struggles with evil even in his own Kingdom. Wow! Keep in mind we are not Gods and don't have the capabilities of Gods. As humans we were designed to fail. As a Christian, I don't know what it ultimately means in the end, I do hope and pray that God's Grace is greater than what has ever been said, and much greater than our imagination. My responsibility is to strive to behave as Jesus did... a God.

You ask why Satan has not attacked the Bible while he is attacking God's precious creations. The Bible has been severely attacked. During the dark ages, it was almost destroyed out of existence. People often had to read it under the pain of death. Satan has tried to destroy it and to keep people from reading it. Today, he is causing many to loose faith in the Bible by scientific arguments such as evolution and critical thinking.
But I believe that God has held His hand over the bible so that those who chose to seek God with all their heart will find them.
It seems like you are saying that God needs Satan, or that He has a specific purpose for Satan, (So that God's purpose will be fulfilled.) Or you are saying that God is not perfect. He is struggling with evil, meaning that He is weak and not able to overcome evil. So, in His love, He is trying to protect us from the evil that He is unable to destroy. You also suggest that maybe evil was present from the very beginning or that evil has always existed. You also suggest that man was designed to fall.
I was also interested in the fact that you would appreciate the circumstance more if God was really at war with evil and that evil was not created by God. But then you mention your doubt that God might not actually be fighting evil, that God is not perfect.
I believe what the Bible says. In Scripture, it is mentioned concerning Satan: "Till iniquity was found in you. Ezekiel 28:15" That suggests to me that evil began with Satan. God did not create evil, it originated with Satan. Satan started to think evil thoughts! He started wanting power for himself.
Before sin began, there was no need for anything. Heaven was a happy place, where all living served God with their hearts in love.
However, when Satan began to accuse God and actually convinced 1/3 of the angels that he was right, that God was holding back blessings from them, that they could also be gods. It was at that point that Satan's continued existence was actually needed by God to show the results of sin. The angels who sided with God needed to know for themselves what Satan's kind of thinking would result in. So I think you are at least partially right. God needed Satan to play out his hand so that the remaining angels and the other worlds could see the actual results of sin. They would see to what extent of evil, Satan's way of thinking and doing would lead them if they chose to follow Satan's rebellion.
If 1/3 of the angels were convinced enough to take Satan's side, then what about the rest of heaven? Did they have questions? Did they almost follow Satan only to hold back for some reason? Were they afraid of God because they knew He was much more powerful? Did they still think that God was still loving? Did they believe that Satan could be partially right? Did they really believe that God would play fair and abide by the rules that He set up?
What about the other worlds? Did they have questions when this rebellion broke out at the very center of God's Kingdom?
How was God going to convince all the remaining angels and the worlds of the whole universe that what Satan said about God was not correct? And that Satan was only looking out for himself, even if he had to destroy everybody else in the process.
In the book of Revelation, we see the things that Satan is going to do, wicked things to try to get his own way. Utter destruction or absolute demonic control of all the people on the earth! Also, near the end of the book, we see how God is going to do away with evil. Everyone in the rebellion, both human and evil angel, will be thrown into the fire that was made for them.
Yet we also see in Revelation, that the angels in heaven are praising God that He has finally judged and has taken the reigns and rules not only heaven but also the earth. Satan is no longer the prince of the earth. They have seen that God is even fair with the wicked! We saw that very same thing in Jesus in the way He treated Judas. Jesus knew what Judas was going to do, yet He tried to reach him like the rest of his followers.
So it seems that the book of Revelation predicts that the angels (and I am sure, the other worlds as well) will love God because of how He has handled everything. If God had killed Satan, after Satan had just accused God of being selfish, etc. It would have looked like God killed the opposition: "and you better not think that way either or God will zap you too". There would have been a great fear of God. Not the fear that means respect and honor, but of fear fear. They would have been afraid of Him.
This kind of fear, the fear of having God zap you, would have been the breeding place for more rebellions in the future, or because they might be afraid of God: they would want to rebel against God if it were possible.
Because of this long battle against Satan, the fear of God (being afraid of God for what He might do to you) in the Universe will have been done away with because it will be seen that God's ways are really best. They will see that it really was Satan who was the destructive selfish one. The seeds of rebellion will have been fully destroyed. The survivors of the universe will realize the intensity of the evil that was in Satan and they will not want any part of it!
In the future, no one will want to rebel against God because they will know the results of rebellion against the love of God. But especially, they will realize that God really does love them. He loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten son! What better example of God's love for His creations could there ever be than the giving up of His only begotten Son so that we could be saved from certain death?
Only when we include the book of Revelation in our studies, only when we include the whole Bible, do all the pieces of the puzzle start fitting together. Yes, there are some things in the Bible that are hard to understand, but with a better understanding of the whole Bible as a unit, we will be able to see the forest for the trees; these problems become easier to understand.
Now, concerning "freedom of choice"; It makes no sense to say that God does not believe that "freedom of choice" is important. All one has to do is to look at the whole of the Bible. God is trying to woo us to love Him, to accept His grace and be saved from certain death.
God is not limited to just trying to convince people to follow Him. God is all powerful and He is well capable of creating a miracle that will make all of us become perfect Christians because He has willed or forced us to do that very thing.
But God has not done that to us. He does not force Himself on us. Since He does not do that to us, we know that He has not done that to the angels or the other worlds either. On the other hand, we can see that Satan chooses all the time, when he is able, to control people against their own will. Satan does not believe in the "freedom of choice" of his followers. Rather he believes in forcing them to do things against their will so that he (Satan) can get his own way.
Also, reading the book Revelation, it is clear that the angels in heaven, the elders, etc. are responding to what God is doing. They are praising God because of the relief and happiness that the awful wickedness is being done away with, that God is finally doing what He promised to do.
Now that Satan has shown his true intentions (as seen in Daniel and Revelation), is there any question in the minds of the angels and elders in heaven that the fruit of Satan's teachings results in having no "freedom of choice" for the subjects of Satan's kingdom? Satan ended up showing what he really wanted. He was selfish and was really into self glorification. If anyone gets in the way of his ambitions, Satan is willing and quite happy to destroy anyone, in the most cruel way, to get what he wants. He cares for nothing else. So, the angels and elders in heaven are happy with relief that the awful wickedness is finally being destroyed!
So, what do you think? I think we see a loving God who is caring for all His creations on all the billions and billions of worlds in the Universe and in heaven. He is making sure that the universe will be safe from the same type of wickedness in the future, because all angels and people will know where that type of thinking leads. It is really selfishness and it leads to wickedness, unhappiness, and the destruction of others for power etc. It is sin!

If I understand what you are saying, it sounds like you are wondering why suffering is continuing in our world. Why do we continue to suffer? In addition, as you say, we see that wars are increasing. Europe for example, is in real trouble.
Yes, things do not look good and we may question why God would let all this happen. But in the Bible, we find that Satan, who was once the top angel in heaven; He rebelled against God saying that God was unfair and that God treats the angels like slaves.
A third of all the angels in heaven actually joined up with Satan. They rebelled! So we can see that God had a real problem. He could have killed them all instantaneously. God could have done that. God could have made it so that Satan and all his fallen followers would no longer exist. But what would that do???
All the other angels in heaven then would begin to wonder if Satan could have been right. They could have thought: See what happened! Satan showed that God was not fair and God just killed them off. We better not mess with God or He will kill us off as well.
The angels would not have known that Satan was actually extremely evil. That Satan wanted the power and the glory but he did not care for anyone else. The angels would not have known that Satan would kill them all off in order to get his own way.
So, we see that God could not kill Satan and his fallen followers (the evil angels) because it would cause all the other angels to serve God because they feared God. Not because they loved Him. And God wanted His universe to be a happy universe with love being the motive for service to God and to each other. God also wanted His universe to be a place where all would want to be righteous just like God.
We can now easily see what God has done when reading carefully through the Bible. God did not kill Satan and his evil angels but instead, God allowed Satan to continue to do his wickedness so that the whole universe and the angels would see what Satan really wanted to do. Also, the universe would begin to understand just how bad wickedness and sin really is.
Satan wanted to be god himself. He wanted to have all the honor for himself, and he would do anything to get it. Even if it meant destroying everything around him. Satan wanted to be like God but he did not want to be righteous and good like God. So, what God is doing is to let all see what Satan is up to, that Satan is really evil, only wanting the power for himself. Satan really does not care for the angels and his followers.
So, the things that are happening on this world of ours is the workings of Satan. Satan wants to control the world and he has to get everyone to follow him.
However, while most of the world follows Satan at least partially, there has always been a small group of people who follow God fully and not Satan. This small group chooses to follow God at all cost. They would rather die than to dishonor God by sinning.
Because of this small group that is absolutely loyal to God and Jesus, Satan cannot achieve his goal of taking over the earth. This makes him extremely angry. And in the last days that he has left to achieve his goal, he will do everything he can to try to get his own way. In the process, he will destroy everything that has been good in our world.
We are now approaching that time. While this has always been a wicked world, things are about to get much worse. The nations of the world are all extremely angry. Nothing seems safe and secure anymore and I believe it will get worse.

4. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:4-8

While the wicked have plenty to worry about, the righteous need not worry at all. Jesus Himself says that there will be lots of trouble at the end but we are not to be worried. Jesus says these things has to happen but we are not to be troubled. That is, if we choose to follow God. Then, it will not matter what happens to us since Jesus will raise us up at the end of the world.
What ever happens to us will help further the purposes of God which is exactly what the righteous want to have happen. So, if we choose to follow God, God will be able to use us in His battle against Satan; This is the great privilege that the righteous have, to be used of God. After all this destruction and suffering is over and done, then the universe will once again be a place of peace, where righteousness will reign supreme because God is at the head of all things!
We see that God not only has this world to protect but He also must help all the other worlds in the universe understand what wickedness Satan is actually trying to do.
Because of what is now happening, with Satan acting wickedly, the universe will once again be a safer place because no one will want to have anything to do with sin and wickedness ever again! Obviously, God knows that He can return the whole universe back to its happy and holy state once again by what He is doing while at the same time He is able to preserve freedom of choice. Sin will forever be eradicated!
So, if we remember to depend on Jesus for everything in our lives and to serve Him, He will save us from all this trouble. Jesus has actually warned us of these things that are coming on the earth. they can't be helped because sin must reach its top level of wickedness before it is stopped.
It is then that Jesus will come to stop all this trouble and set everything up right again.

The 6th question: The presence of evil in the world is blamed on Satan. Christian (and Muslim) delusion about the existence of the devil is an excuse for God's inability or unwillingness to do anything about evil, misery, disease and poverty. The following was written by the Greek Philosopher Epicurus: Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; Or he can, but does not want to; If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked. But, if God both can and wants to abolish evil, then how come evil is in the world?

You have questions that on the surface, appear not to have an answer. These questions make it appear that God is not what He says He is. The only possible answers these questions allow, are that He is either malevolent, or not omnipotent, or He is even evil Himself! These questions do not allow any other possibility.
However, the reason why there does not seem to be any good answer, is that you are basing your questions on specific assumptions about God. Assumptions that can be wrong.
No matter what position we take, we must start with assumptions. In science, assumptions are used all the time. They are understood and used so that the scientific method can proceed.
On the other hand, from how I have heard theologians speak to people, they either are not fully aware of the assumptions they are making or they are "pulling the wool" over the eyes of the public. (Actually, I have heard scientists do the same thing.) They act as if there are no assumptions that they make to arrive at their opinions.
These are the assumptions that they think are our only options:

1. God is all powerful. He can do anything He wants to do because there is no one to stop Him. He is all Powerful!
2. God is not all powerful. There is evil in the world but He is unable to stop it.

With these types of limited assumptions, we can explain God only in certain allowable ways. The assumptions limit our answers!

1. If God wants to abolish evil, but cannot, he is impotent.
2. If He can abolish evil, but does not want to, He is wicked.
3. But, if God wants to abolish evil and He actually can abolish evil, then how come evil is in the world?

So, are "wicked" or "impotent", the only possibilities we have to describe God? Are these the only possible reasons for the evil that is found in the world?
When no other possibilities are entertained, we then have no satisfactory answer at all and I believe this kind of thinking has confused a lot of people. The Bible does not have these hopeless ideas as the only options we have to choose from.
What they have missed is this: They completely forget or ignore the only correct answer. It is the answer that is explained in the Bible! What is it?
The other possible assumption, the Biblical answer, is that God is all powerful and righteous but that He has also limited His actions because He values the free will of His creations. To do away with free will would be wicked in of itself. God would be a "control freak" just like Satan is if He were to literally force His creations against their wills.
We must always remember that it is Satan who will try to control you no matter what you actually want to do. If Satan cannot control you, he will then try to kill you!
So, if God were going to try to do away with evil by forcing His own creations against their own will; God would be doing evil things to His own creations by His very actions. Just because God is more powerful, does not make what He does right!
What God does, must be above reproach. So God has placed upon Himself constraints. He will have to solve the problem of Satan and his rebellion without doing either evil.
The Bible gives us the clue how God will abolish evil but it will take some time. Read Revelation chapter 19. It specifically describes how God will destroy Satan and all His followers. Before this can occur; However, a heavenly court has to convene in order to judge those who are evil. All those who have caused evil to begin in Heaven and to cause it to spread to the earth will be judged. Also, all those, on the earth, who have chosen Satan as their leader will be judged as well.
In the book of Daniel, he speaks of this court as happening at the end of the world. It is at that time that Satan's dominion will be taken away from Satan and given over to Jesus:

9. "I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire;
10. A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened. Daniel 7:9-10

13. "I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him.
14. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14.

22. until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. Daniel 7:22

26. But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his [Satan's] dominion, To consume and destroy it forever. Daniel 7:26

So, the court in heaven will open and Jesus will be brought in before God, the Ancient of Days, and dominion and glory and a kingdom will be given over the Jesus at that time. In the process Satan's dominion will be taken away from him to be consumed and destroyed.
Also judgment will be made in favor of the saints of the Most High. All this is yet to happen!
In Revelation, we see that this happens at the time when the seventh angel sounds the seventh trumpet:

15. And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
16. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17. Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
18. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. Revelation 11:15-18

Before this court session, the earth was not part of the kingdom of God. Not in the strictest sense. Even Jesus said several times that Satan was the ruler of this world. Only when the court meets does Jesus receive the Kingdom.
Also, in looking at these two places in Scripture, we can see that God is making all His decisions while being before the people of His Kingdom. Nothing is being hidden. Thus, God is actually making Himself open and transparent to the created beings that He Himself has made. He is allowing them to judge Him in this process.
God will win this battle against Satan and He will have all His creation agreeing with what He has done. Not because they have to or are forced to agree with God but because they actually see such love in their Creator that they want to give thanks to Him because He has finally done what He said He will do.

The 7th question: You say that God is powerful and fair, then why doesn't He end war peacefully by making a new world and let Satan have that and let anyone who wishes to follow him go? would there be a problem with this?

I am not sure that I know the real or complete answer to this question. We will learn so much of what the real issues are when we begin living with Jesus, but I will try to answer your question:
I believe that the only fair thing to do in Satan's case is to absolutely destroy him because he has destroyed untold trillions and trillions of people through the ages of time (to say nothing of the fallen angels who are now lost and will also have to be completely destroyed). He is the source of untold misery heartache and bloodshed. Satan is the one ultimately responsible for causing the majority of the human family and one third of all the angels to be destroyed for eternity!
In addition, Satan hates God and would, if he could, pull Him down from the throne of the Universe. The threat and the presence of that hatred and determination, just having that hatred in the Universe, I am sure, will not be tolerated by God in the ceaseless ages of eternity.
How can there be true happiness, how can all tears cease if sin is allowed to continue???
We are promised that all sorrow will be done away with. All tears will cease and there will be true happiness because all sin, its hatred and the heartache, will be done away with. All sinful things will be completely destroyed! This includes Satan and all his followers, whether human or fallen angel; Because they have become like the one they follow.

8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

44. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44

This war is not just a war between two sides. It is a war where Satan, who has become the father of evil, uses all kinds of evil methods against all who might oppose him. Let's remind ourselves what he will do to the people of God at the end of the world:

1. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Revelation 12:12
2. it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. Daniel 7:7
3. he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. Revelation 12:13
4. And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17
5. and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Revelation 13:15
6. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. Revelation 13:7
7. yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. Daniel 11:33
8. He. . . shall persecute the saints of the Most High, Daniel 7:25
9. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. Daniel 7:25
10. (It) was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, Daniel 7:21
11. it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. Daniel 12:7

It is true, Satan is a murderer and the father of evil. He will use any kind of evil to anyone who might oppose him!
So, the wicked will be completely destroyed, as described in the Bible to bring happiness back into the Universe that God has created.

20. The LORD preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy. Psalm 145:20.

9. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.
10. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.
11. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

20. But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the LORD, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away. Psalm 37: 9-11, 20.

38. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off. Psalm 37: 9-11, 20, 38.

35. May sinners be consumed from the earth, And the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD! Psalm 104:35.

14. Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame; It shall not be a coal to be warmed by, Nor a fire to sit before! Isaiah 47:14.

1. For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up, Says the LORD of hosts, That will leave them neither root nor branch.
2. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3. You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this, Says the LORD of hosts. Malachi 4:1-3.

In 2015, I had the idea of a startup company where the readers can decide for themselves the next story. WASN'T THIS A GREAT IDEA? IF can be realized WILL BE WORTH billions USD. Because CAN PRODUCE FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS even tens of millions USD annually. 

In theory, in 10-20 years into the future, my startup income, amounting to hundreds of million USD annually can be obtained easily. AND IF FOLLOWED BY MANY COMPANIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD WILL THEN BE A NEW INDUSTRIAL worth trillions USD.

If you feel curious then you can re-read the story by changing your selection. Then you will see a different story with the story that you have read previously. The question now is why is this so? Because the storyline will be varying according to your choice. 

I, as the author is planning to make tens of thousands of articles with millions of choices in it. With tens of thousands of articles then you like to see a show of your favorite series on TV for several years. The difference is while watching your favorite TV series, then you can not change the story. Meanwhile, if you read this story then you can alter the way the story according to your own choice.

You might say like this. Sounds like a book "choose your own adventure". Books I read when I was young.

Correctly. The idea is taken from there. But if you read through a book, the story is not so exciting. Due to the limited number of pages. When a child first you may already feel interesting. series has produced more than 250 million US 

dollars. While I offer you more powerful than the Choose

If I do not get funding from investors then my story would still spread throughout the world. But with a longer time, Slow but sure.
