Kitab Suci menyatakan dengan tepat kapan Yesus Kristus dilahirkan. Satu hal yang menyenangkan tentang hari kelahiran adalah adanya suatu perayaan. Bapa di Surga mau mengadakan perayaan yang sangat besar bagi kelahiran Anak-Nya ke dalam dunia.
Pertama mari kita lihat dalam Kitab Ulangan 16:16
Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose (Jerusalem); in the feast of unleavened bread (Passover), and in the feast of weeks (Pentecost), and in the feast of tabernacle… (KJV)
Tiga kali setahun setiap orang laki-laki di antaramu harus menghadap hadirat TUHAN, Allahmu, di tempat yang dipilih-Nya (Yerusalem), yakni pada Hari Raya Roti Tidak Beragi (Paskah), pada Hari Raya Tujuh Minggu (Pentakosta) dan pada Hari Raya Pondok Daun (Tabernakel)…

Kenapa semua orang harus menghadap Tuhan pada perayaan itu?
TUHAN ingin semua orang ada di sana ketika Yesus lahir, pada saat perayaan ulang tahun-Nya, juga Dia ingin semua orang datang menyaksikan ketika Anak-Nya harus mati pada waktu Paskah. Dia juga ingin semua orang datang menyaksikan ketika Dia mencurahkan Roh Kudus pada waktu hari raya Pentakosta. Kita tahu TUHAN kita adalah Tuhan yang mengatur segala-galanya (God of order). Josephus, penulis sejarah Yahudi, mencatat ada sekitar 2,5 juta orang Yahudi yang datang Yerusalem pada waktu Messias dilahirkan. Jadi berbicara mengenai pesta kelahiran yang besar, Bapa di Surga ingin semua orang hadir ketika Yesus lahir pada Hari Raya Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacles).
Bagaimana kita membuktikan itu semua dari kalender?
Kita mulai dari Lukas pasal 1, kelahiran Yohanes Pembaptis, adalah titik awalnya. Ayah Yohanes adalah Zakharia. Dari Lukas 1:5-9 kita tahu bahwa ayah Yohanes adalah seorang imam yang berasal dari rombongan Abia.
Pada zaman Herodes, raja Yudea, adalah seorang imam yang bernama Zakharia dari rombongan Abia. Isterinya juga berasal dari keturunan Harun, namanya Elisabet.
Keduanya adalah benar di hadapan Allah dan hidup menurut segala perintah dan ketetapan Tuhan dengan tidak bercacat.
Tetapi mereka tidak mempunyai anak, sebab Elisabet mandul dan keduanya telah lanjut umurnya.
Pada suatu kali, waktu tiba giliran rombongannya, Zakharia melakukan tugas keimaman di hadapan Tuhan.
Sebab ketika diundi, sebagaimana lazimnya, untuk menentukan imam yang bertugas, dialah yang ditunjuk untuk masuk ke dalam Bait Suci dan membakar ukupan di situ.
Apa artinya?
Dalam 1 Tawarikh 24:10, Abia adalah rombongan kedelapan.
…yang ketujuh pada Hakos; yang kedelapan pada Abia…
Apa maksudnya itu?
Raja Daud membagi para imam dalam beberapa rombongan berbeda, tiap-tiap rombongan melayani selama 2 minggu dalam setahun (baca selengkapnya di 1 Tawarikh 24:7-18). Pada waktu 3 perayaan besar itu (Paskah, Pentakosta dan Pondok Daun), ketika semua orang berada di Yerusalem, semua imam melayani bersama-sama. Pada waktu perayaan itu sangat banyak orang yang berkumpul di sana.
Sekarang kita lihat kalender:
Karena perayaan Paskah itu dirayakan pada awal bulan pertama dalam kalender religius (rabbinical calendar), kita mendapati itu terjadi di sekitar awal bulan April: golongan imam pertama melayani minggu pertama bulan April; golongan imam kedua melayani minggu kedua bulan April;
minggu ketiga adalah perayaan Hari Raya Roti Tak Beragi (Paskah), yang berlangsung selama 7 hari, dan semua imam melayani bersama-sama. Jadi imam golongan ketiga baru melayani pada minggu keempat. Demikian selanjutnya sampai golongan kedelapan yakni golongan Abia. Jadi Zakharia melayani pada minggu yang kedelapan itu.
Tapi tepat pada minggu berikutnya, semua imam akan melayani pada hari raya Pentakosta. Itu sebabnya dalam Lukas 1:10-11 semua orang berkumpul di situ untuk berdoa pada waktu pembakaran ukupan pada waktu hari raya Pentakosta:
Sementara itu seluruh umat berkumpul di luar dan sembahyang. Waktu itu adalah waktu pembakaran ukupan. Maka tampaklah kepada Zakharia seorang malaikat Tuhan berdiri di sebelah kanan mezbah pembakaran ukupan.
Kemudian kita lihat Lukas 1:24, setelah Zakharia menyelesaikan tugasnya, yaitu sekitar akhir bulan Juni, kita dapati Elizabeth menjadi hamil dan dia menyembunyikan diri selama 5 bulan.
Dan setelah hari-hari itu istrinya Elisabeth mengandung, dan menyembunyikan dirinya selama lima bulan.
Dari akhir Juni kita hitung ditambah lima bulan, akan jatuh pada akhir November. Kemudian kita mendapati Lukas 1:26,36 (KJV)
Dan pada bulan keenam (akhir Desember) malaikat Gabriel diutus oleh Allah ke sebuah kota di Galilea, namanya Nazaret.
Dan sesungguhnya, Elisabet, sanakmu itu, iapun sedang mengandung seorang anak laki-laki pada hari tuanya dan inilah bulan yang keenam bagi dia, yang disebut mandul itu.
Bulan keenam akan jatuh pada bulan Desember, seorang malaikat muncul kepada Maria dan mengatakan bahwa itu adalah bulan keenam bagi Elizabeth, jadi itu artinya akhir bulan Desember, dan itu adalah waktu ketika Maria mulai mengandung.
Dan jika kita hitung masa kehamilan seorang wanita adalah 9 bulan lebih, hitung maju 9 bulan akan jatuh pada akhir bulan September, sekitar awal Oktober, itulahwaktu ketika Yesus dilahirkan.
Dan waktu itu adalah tepat pada waktu pesta perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle). Itu artinya adalah waktu perayaan dimana semua orang datang ke Yerusalem. Tuhan telah merencanakan sebuah pesta kelahiran Anak-Nya dari berabad-abad sebelumnya.

Kita baca dalam Ulangan 16:13-15, khususnya ayat 14 (KJV):
Dan engkau harus bersukacita didalam perayaanmu, kamu, dan anakmu laki-laki, dan anakmu perempuan, dan hambamu laki-laki, dan hambamu perempuan, dan orang-orang Lewi, dan orang asing, dan anak-anak yatim, dan janda, yang ada di dalam pintu gerbangmu.
Satu aspek yang penting dalam pesta perayaan Sukkot/Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle) adalah perintah untuk bersukacita. Anda bisa bayangkan, ini adalah perintah dari Tuhan. Kamu harus bersukacita dalam perayaanmu, semua harus bersukacita dalam hari kelahiran Anak-Ku. Engkau ini dan anakmu laki-laki serta anakmu perempuan, hambamu laki-laki dan hambamu perempuan, dan orang Lewi, orang asing, anak yatim dan janda yang di dalam tempatmu. Semuanya harus bersukacita selama perayaan Pondok Daun.
Yang menarik adalah tradisi Hallel (puji-pujian dari Mazmur 113-118) yang selalu dinyanyikan pada waktu perayaan itu. Mazmur 118 adalah Mazmur yang paling utama yang dinyanyikan dalam pesta perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle).
Sekarang kita lihat apa yang mereka nyanyikan selama pesta Perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle):
Mazmur 118 kita lihat ayat 14, 15 dan 21 (KJV).
Ingat, bahwa mereka diperintahkan untuk bersukacita. Tuhan secara tidak langsung berkata, "Ada pesta ulang tahun buat Anak-Ku dan kamu harus bersukacita!"
Mazmur 118:14
The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation (Hebrew : Yeshua).
TUHAN itu kekuatan dan nyanyianku, dan telah menjadi keselamatanku (Ibrani : Yeshua).
Keselamatan dalam bahasa Ibrani adalah Yeshua, itu adalah nama Tuhan kita Yesus Kristus!
Mazmur 118:15
The voice of rejoicing and salvation (Yeshua) is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
Suara sukacita dan keselamatan (Yeshua) ada di dalam tabernakel (pondok) orang-orang benar: tangan kanan TUHAN melakukan keperkasaan.
Ini adalah nyanyian pada waktu perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle): Yeshua ada di dalam pondok orang-orang benar!
Mazmur 118:21
I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation (my Yeshua!).
Aku akan memuji-Mu, sebab Engkau telah mendengar aku, dan telah menjadi keselamatanku (Yeshua-ku!).
Mazmur 118:24-25
Ini adalah hari yang dijadikan TUHAN, kita akan bersukacita dan bergembira di dalamnya.
Selamatkan sekarang, aku memohon kepada-Mu, O TUHAN: O TUHAN, aku memohon kepadamu, kirimkan sekarang keberhasilan (Ibrani: tsâlach, artinya terobosan, jalan keluar, mengatasi, kecukupan, keberuntungan, keberhasilan).
Jadi waktu itu adalah waktu bersukacita, bahkan di dalam Bait Allah.
Sekarang kita lihat Lukas 2:8-11 (KJV)
Dan ada disana di daerah itu, gembala-gembala yang tinggal di padang, menjaga kawanan ternak mereka pada waktu malam.
Dan, lihatlah, seorang malaikat Tuhan datang kepada mereka, dan kemuliaan Tuhan bersinar meliputi mereka: dan mereka amat sangat ketakutan.
Dan malaikat itu berkata kepada mereka, "Jangan takut: lihatlah, aku membawa kepadamu kabar baik sukacita yang besar, untuk semua bangsa.
Karena bagimu telah lahir pada hari ini di kota Daud seorang Juruselamat (Yunani: soter, artinya penyelamat, pembebas), yaitu Kristus (Messias) Tuhan.
Selanjutnya pada ayat 13 dan 14 (KJV)
Dan tiba-tiba tampaklah bersama-sama dengan malaikat itu sejumlah besar bala tentara sorga memuji Allah, dan berkata,
"Kemuliaan bagi Allah di tempat yang mahatinggi, dan di atas bumi damai sejahtera, bagi orang yang berkenan kepada-Nya."
Itu adalah waktu perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle), dan itu terjadi di bulan September-Oktober. Para gembala pada saat itu sedang menggembalakan domba di padang. Itu tidak terjadi pada waktu musim salju. Kita tidak akan menemukan para gembala menggembalakan kawanan ternaknya pada musim salju di Israel.
Perayaan meriah ini berlangsung selama 8 hari, siang dan malam. Dan sangat banyak orang Yahudi ada di Yerusalem. Di atas telah disinggung, Josephus mengatakan ada 2,5 juta orang di Yerusalam di sekitar waktu kelahiran Yesus. Jadi secara fisik ada ribuan pondok daun, gubuk-gubuk kecil yang didirikan dan mereka tinggal di situ. Orang akan tinggal disana selama 8 hari.
Yohanes 1:14
Dan Firman itu telah menjadi daging, dan tinggal (Yunani: skēnoō) diantara kita, dan kita telah melihat kemuliaan-Nya, kemuliaan dari yang tunggal dari Bapa, penuh kasih karunia dan kebenaran.
Kata tinggal (dwell) didalam bahasa Yunani: skēnoō, artinya berkemah (tent or encamp), mendiami, bertempat tinggal.
Itu artinya secara lahiriah Dia akan tinggal di dalam tabernakel (pondok). Firman itu telah menjadi daging di dalam tabernakel (pondok) diantara kita, pada waktu Perayaan Pondok Daun, sama seperti ketika TUHAN memerintahkan Perayaan ini di Perjanjian Lama. Dan kapan mereka membangun Pondok Daun? Pada waktu perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle). Ini telah diperintahkan TUHAN sejak zaman Musa di Kitab Keluaran.
Sekarang kita lihat Lukas 2:6-7
Dan terjadilah, ketika mereka ada di sana, harinya telah genap bahwa dia (Maria) harus melahirkan.
Dan dia melahirkan anak sulungnya laki-laki, dan membungkusnya dengan kain (swaddling clothes), dan meletakkan Dia di palungan; karena tidak ada ruangan bagi mereka di penginapan.
Kenapa tidak ada penginapan bagi mereka?
Karena pada saat itu ada 2,5 juta orang datang ke Yerusalem. Ada perayaan Pondok Daun, pada waktu itu ada ribuan pondok didirikan. Jadi secara lahiriah, Yeshua lahir di dalam pondok (tabernakel). Dan mereka membungkus-Nya dengan kain.
Pada waktu perayaan itu, ada sebuah lampu pelita besar yang tergantung di Bait Suci. Dan sebagai sumbunya, mereka menggunakan pakaian imam yang telah usang.
Sekarang kita lihat kata "kain pembungkus" (swaddling clothes) yang dipakai untuk membungkus bayi Yeshua; dalam bahasa Yunani sparganoō, artinya dibungkus dengan kain (wrap in swaddling clothes).
Jadi Yesus pada Perayaan Pondok Daun secara lahiriah dibungkus dengan pakaian imam (priestly garment), dengan kain pembungkus (swaddling clothes). Kita ingat, kerabat mereka adalah keluarga imam.
Lukas 2:21
Dan ketika delapan hari telah genap waktunya untuk menyunatkan anak itu, nama-Nya disebut Yesus (Yunani: Iēsous), seperti nama yang diberikan oleh malaikat sebelum Dia dikandung di dalam rahim (Maria).
Kita ingat perayaan Pondok Daun (Tabernakel) berlangsung selama 8 hari. Dan jika Dia lahir pada hari pertama perayaan Pondok Daun, dimanakah Dia pada hari kedelapan? Dia ada di Bait Suci. Mencurahkan darah-Nya ketika disunat untuk meneguhkan perjanjian TUHAN dengan Abraham.
Lalu mengenai Perayaan ini, banyak orang berpikir bahwa perayaan ini adalah perayaan khusus orang Israel. Tapi perhatikan apa yang tertulis dalam Imamat 23:1-2
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts (Hebrew: mô‛êd).
Dan TUHAN berkata kepada Musa, firman-Nya, "Berbicaralah kepada anak-anak Israel, dan katakan kepada mereka, mengenai perayaan-perayaan dari TUHAN, yang harus kamu umumkan sebagai hari pertemuan kudus, ini adalah perayaan-perayaan-Ku.
TUHAN berkata, Ini adalah perayaan-perayaan-Ku!
Tidak dikatakan ini adalah perayaan orang Israel atau orang Yahudi.
Itu artinya setiap orang milik kepunyaan TUHAN harus merayakannya. Tadi sudah kita baca dari Imamat 16:14
Semua orang: kamu, dan anakmu laki-laki, dan anakmu perempuan, dan hambamu laki-laki, dan hambamu perempuan, dan orang-orang Lewi, dan orang asing, dan anak-anak yatim, dan janda, yang ada di dalam pintu gerbangmu, harus merayakannya dengan bersukacita.
Perayaan (feast) dalam bahasa Ibrani : mô‛êd (baca: mo-ade'), artinya ketetapan (divine appointment).
Jadi perayaan-perayaan ini adalah ketetapan dari TUHAN. Waktu dimana TUHAN menetapkan di dalam sejarah bagi anak-Nya untuk lahir, untuk mati dan bagi Roh Kudus untuk dicurahkan.
Kembali ke Lukas 2:22-24.
Kita sudah melihat Yesus lahir pada Perayaan Pondok Daun (Feast of Tabernacle). Yang berlangsung selama 8 hari lamanya. Kita lihat sebulan sesudahnya, Maria dan Yusuf kembali lagi untuk melakukan persembahan.
Dan ketika hari-hari pentahirannya menurut Hukum Musa telah genap, mereka membawa Dia ke Yerusalem, untuk memperhadapkan-Nya kepada Tuhan, seperti ada tertulis dalam hukum Tuhan: "Setiap anak laki-laki yang membuka rahim akan disebut kudus bagi Allah", dan untuk mempersembahkan korban menurut apa yang dikatakan dalam hukum Tuhan, sepasang burung tekukur, atau dua ekor anak burung merpati.
Yang menarik adalah jika kita mempelajari apa yang sesungguhnya harus dipersembahkan untuk pentahiran itu dalam Imamat 12:6-8.
Ini hukum bagi wanita yang melahirkan anak laki-laki.
And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering. (KJV)
Dan ketika hari-hari pentahirannya sudah genap, bagi seorang anak laki-laki, atau bagi seorang anak perempuan, dia harus membawa seekor anak domba tahun pertama sebagai korban bakaran, dan seekor anak burung merpati, atau seekor tekukur, sebagai korban penebus dosa, ke pintu kemah pertemuan, kepada imam.
Dan jika dia tidak mampu membawa seekor domba, dia harus membawa dua ekor burung tekukur, atau dua ekor anak burung merpati; yang satu untuk korban bakaran, dan yang seekor untuk korban penebus dosa.
Kita membaca bahwa Maria dan Yusuf ini dari keluarga yang tidak mampu, karena mereka membawa sepasang burung tekukur dan dua ekor anak burung merpati.
