Beberapa waktu yang lalu google menghapus authorship dari penelusuran dan diprediksi akan muncul indikator author rank yang cukup mempengaruhi posisi SERP. Keduanya berbeda walaupun dalam teknis dulunya bekerja bersama-sama. Pada situs searchengineland sedang ramai dibahas statement dari 
petinggi google yang beberapa waktu lalu menyatakan bahwa author rank belum diberlakukan. Hal inilah yang membuat dunia dan saya sebagai pelaku seo terkejut.

Awalnya banyak yang mengira penghapusan authorship berarti matinya author rank. Apalagi di webmaster tool, histori tulisan sudah dihilangkan dari data, tetapi mengapa petinggi search engine terbesar menyatakan seperti itu? Semua pihak jadi mengira ada algoritma yang akan diberlakukan terkait kualitas individu penulis artikel.

Walau masih menjadi perdebatan, ada satu hal yang aneh jika anda memiliki banyak blog dan saat melakukan setting di webmaster tool. Jika anda membuat blog baru dan didaftarkan dengan user lama anda, maka proses perayapan indeksnya cukup cepat. Dalam hitungan jam sudah muncul di penelusuran jika menuliskan domain secara lengkap di kotak pencarian google. Tetapi jika blog baru tersebut menggunakan user baru pula, maka butuh beberapa hari, barulah akan disinggahi oleh googlebot. Dari pengalaman ini, saya yakin bahwa sebenarnya sekarang sudah mulai muncul era author rank yang konsepnya berbeda dengan authorship. Metode ini lebih terkait terhadap seo dibanding metode lama yang hanya menonjolkan visualisasi author.
