Do you really get more traffic when you create new content?
Creating great content is one thing and promoting that same piece of content is the other and if you don’t put your hard work and effort into both of these activities then you are not going to see any growth for your blog.
When i created my first niche site i struggled hard to create content for it.Although it wasn’t that hard to create it but what really hard for me was to promote my content so i can get traffic to my niche site.
It took me a long time and effort to really get search traffic as i built somebacklinks and did some necessary promotion.
After spending some time on learning new ways to promote my content i had a good grip over what works and what doesn’t.
Since lots of things has changed in blogging and now most of the old school methods don’t work anymore like article marketing,directory submission,web 2.0 etc.

 1 . LinkedIn Groups

Joining the niche relevant groups on LinkedIn will help you to get more eyeballs to your latest blog posts and to get some high quality backlinks and social shares as well.Just be careful in joining groups because you don’t want to  join everygroup on LinkedIn.
Also find influencers on LinkedIn who are the power users and start building relationships with them by sharing their content and letting them know that you shared their content and later on you can some time share your content directly to them to share with their audience.
Most of the times you will get an influencer to share your content and when that will happen you will get instant exposure to your blog post and your overall blog traffic.
Identify at least 10 highly relevant and active groups and join them.Start engaging with the audience by sharing their content,commenting and following them.

2 . Google+ Communities

Communities are the secret sauce of Google+ marketing.
Just like LinkedIn groups you can join communities on G+ and participate in them by sharing,commenting and following other users.Just don’t over promote your blog posts and if you did then your posts will start getting ignored by your audience.
Join relevant communities on G+ and start engaging with the audience.Do not post the same article more than 2 times a day.You can promote it the other day and so on.

3 . Facebook Groups

Search for Facebook groups and join them.what then?..Do the same just like G+ and LinkedIn.

4 . Blog Comments

For most new bloggers,blog comments are only for building backlinks and even though they used to be effective to build link backs but they are not anymore.
That doesn’t mean that you should not comment on other blogs,Does it?
Blog commenting is a great activity to build relationships with the bloggers in your niche as well as get some serious referral traffic to your blog.
If you comment on a high traffic blog that receives multiple thousand views every time they publish new post and if you are one of those who always comment first or second then you will get some serious amount of traffic back to your blog.

5 . Guest Post

Write a guest post for a big blog in your niche that is bigger than yours and within the post link to some of their articles and also include one link back to one of your important pages like a Landing Page or some other page.
While it’s not easy to get accepted by the big name bloggers but if you have a good reputation as a blogger and if you produce good content on your own blog then the odds of your acceptance are higher.
Before requesting for guest post to other blogger you need to build relationships with them as i talked about it above.You can build relationships by sharing their content,commenting on their posts and by following them on social media.All these are good tools to build relationships but when actually going for a guest post email is the best way to communicate with your target blogger.

6 . Q&A Sites

Go to popular Q&A sited like Yahoo answers,Quora and answers.com and look for recent questions that have been asked that are about your content.
Answer these questions and link back to your blog posts or tutorial that you have created on your own blog.

7 . Change Your Title

Most people on social media read articles when they look at a title that attracts their attention.
On the flip side if you use the same title over & over again people will start ignoring it.Use different titles for your social media sharing and schedule your social posts using a tool like Buffer.
Neil Patel from quicksprout gave great advice that you should create at least 20 snippets from your blog posts and share them on social media by scheduling them.
This way you will get more clicks from social sites then if you would use the same Headline again and again.

8 . Create A YouTube Video

Create a video tutorial on the post that you are going to promote and upload it on YouTube.Use your target keywords in your video title and add a link to your blog post at the top of the description of your video.Also use call to actions throughout the video to click the link in description and go to your blog.

9 . Make A Slide

Turn your blog post into a PowerPoint slide and submit it to slide sharing sites like slideshare.net.You can do the same with the slide as you did with infographic.

10 . Tweet @influencers

When you share your blog post on twitter you can mention one or two influencers in your niche to let them know about it.This tactic is very useful when you share their content and let them know about your retweet that you have shared their content.

11 . Create an infographic

Turn your blog post into a visually stunning infographic and submit it to infographic sharing sites.Also embed it on your own blog as well.Ask other bloggers in your niche to embed your infographic on their blogs.
Give them an embed code so they can easily use your infographic.Another benefit of giving embed code is that you will get high quality backlinks wherever the infographic will be embedded.

Conclusion

Although there are gazillions of other ways to promote your blog posts but you don’t need all of them to get decent traffic to your blog.Choose 2 to 3 methods and then stick with them until you get results.

Try to imagine this. When you're reading a story on the web or blog, you are given two choices. You can choose the next story based on your own choice. After selecting then you can continue reading the story. Shortly afterwards you will be presented back to the 2 other options. The next choice is up to you. Then you continue the story you are reading. After that you will be faced again with 2 choices. So onwards.

If you feel curious then you can re-read the story by changing your selection. Then you will see a different story with the story that you have read previously. The question now is why is this so? Because the storyline will be varying according to your choice. 

Based on the above, then you are faced with two choices. Are you interested in reading my story is? Or you are not interested at all. The choice is in your hands.
